Korean beef tartare and galbi 3-person set in Jeonju: Ibeosi Sutbul
In short
Ibeosi Sutbul Galbi Ajung Main Branch is a charcoal galbi (grilled short rib) restaurant on Ajung-ro in Jeonju, Jeonbuk. The 3-person set brought charcoal-grilled seasoned galbi, Korean beef yukhoe (raw beef tartare), blue crab doenjang stew, and corn cheese, with a marinade that wasn't overly sweet and beef tartare that stood out. With a spacious hall, down-draft ventilation, and parking out back, it's worth recommending for a family dinner or evening gathering in Jeonju.

Today I want to introduce a Jeonju dinner spot I found while looking for a good place to eat meat: Ibeosi Sutbul Galbi Ajung Main Branch. It's been a fixture in the Ajung-ri area for a long time, and I hear it's popular for family meals and gatherings thanks to its clean atmosphere and generous portions.
Location and parking at Ibeosi Sutbul Galbi Ajung Main Branch

Ibeosi Sutbul Galbi sits right on the main Ajung-ro road, so it wasn't hard to find. The eye-catching sign out front and a retro-style car parked nearby made it easy to spot even while just passing by.

Parking is available in the space behind the restaurant, and there's also street and alley parking nearby, so driving there wasn't much of a hassle.

Atmosphere, seating, and down-draft ventilation
Walking inside, the place was bigger and cleaner than I expected. The tables had generous spacing, and seating ranged from 4-person tables to group seating, making it look great for family gatherings or work dinners. I also liked the down-draft ventilation system — the smoke from grilling doesn't rise up, so your clothes don't end up smelling like smoke.

What comes with the 3-person set
I ordered the 3-person set today. It comes with charcoal-grilled seasoned galbi along with Korean beef yukhoe, doenjang (soybean paste) stew, and corn cheese, so I got to enjoy several dishes at once.

The basic side dishes — japchae (stir-fried glass noodles), salad, green onion kimchi, seasoned crab, and more — all paired well with the meat, so there was plenty to enjoy even before the galbi arrived.

The scale on the table
One thing that especially caught my eye was the scale set up on the table. Having a way to check the meat's weight yourself gave me a good impression of honest, transparent operation.

How was the charcoal-grilled seasoned galbi?
Finally, the main event — the seasoned galbi! The moment it hit the charcoal, that gentle smoky aroma rose up, and I was reminded once again that galbi really is best over charcoal.

The marinade wasn't just sweet — it had a moderate sweetness balanced with real savory depth, and the meat itself was tender enough to eat without feeling heavy.

The meat had nice knife scoring, so the seasoning soaked in all the way through, and the juices felt moist and rich.

Corn cheese, blue crab doenjang stew, and Korean beef yukhoe
The corn cheese that came with the meat was sweet and savory — the kind of flavor kids would love — and it made for an interesting pairing alongside the galbi.

The doenjang stew with blue crab in it had a hearty yet refreshing flavor, and it was great to have in between bites of meat.

Personally, the dish I was most satisfied with was the yukhoe. The fresh beef combined with a savory seasoning gave it a great texture, and for something included in a set menu, the quality was quite impressive.

Ibeosi Sutbul Galbi was also running a review event. Writing a Naver receipt review and the like can earn you various benefits, so it's worth taking part if you visit.
Jeonju Ajung-ri galbi, wrapping up
Overall, Ibeosi Sutbul Galbi combined a hearty menu, a clean atmosphere, and satisfying galbi. If you're looking for a galbi restaurant in the Ajung-ri area of Jeonju, I'd recommend it as a spot for family dinners or evening gatherings. I could really feel why this place has been loved for so long — that was my review of Ibeosi Sutbul Galbi Ajung Main Branch.
