Yangsan brunch café with high chairs: mushroom toast, Famous Venny

In short

Famous Venny Yangsan Oslo Park Branch is a wood-and-white modern brunch café on basement level 1 of Oslo Park in Mulgeum, Yangsan. Three adults and a 4-year-old ordered egg in hell, The Famous Benny, grilled mushroom toast and an acai bowl, plus a strawberry smoothie and coffee, and high chairs were ready for the child. The quiet room makes Famous Venny just as good for an adults-only brunch.

Famous Venny, a brunch café in Yangsan Oslo Park

Today I'm sharing my review of Famous Benny (FAMOUS BENNY), a gorgeous new brunch café that just opened in Yangsan's Oslo Park. It's a modern, calm space where I got to enjoy delicious brunch and coffee — a must-visit if you're looking for a good brunch café in Yangsan!

What Famous Venny Yangsan Oslo Park Branch looks and feels like

Famous Venny Yangsan Oslo Park Branch is on basement level 1 of Oslo Park, right across from Root Skatepark. The moment I walked in, the clean, tidy interior caught my eye. It's all wood and white tones overall, giving off a really calm, elegant mood.

Can you bring a child? High chairs and seating at Famous Venny

The baby chair is the first thing I check when visiting with a kid! Famous Venny had them ready and clean, of course, so we could use one comfortably with our little one. We came as 3 adults and 1 toddler.

It's fine to bring kids, but the place is so quiet and calm that I thought, 'next time it'd be great to come just with my husband, or with adults only.' Coming with kids gets a little chaotic 😅 — a place like this is perfect for adults to sit quietly, eat great food, drink coffee and chat!

The service bar — water, napkins, and everything else — was spotlessly organized, and every single piece of tableware was so pretty and thoughtfully chosen! The staff were also incredibly kind, so I felt great throughout the meal. ❤️

Looking at the menu, there were so many tasty brunch options I agonized over it for a while haha

Four brunch dishes at Famous Venny, reviewed

Egg in hell (shakshuka): the top pick at Famous Venny

Egg in hell shakshuka topped with edible flowers and arugula

Personally the best dish of the day: egg in hell! When I make this at home it's a real 'hell' mess of thrown-together ingredients and bread dipped in every which way lol, but Famous Venny's egg in hell was somehow so beautiful...🌸 With pretty edible flowers on top plus fresh arugula, the colors were gorgeous. The taste was perfect too, and I scraped up every last bit of sauce with my spoon!

The sourdough bread that came with it was baked really crispy, and personally I felt like a slightly less crispy bread would have soaked up the sauce even better haha (just my personal taste!)

The Famous Benny with salmon

The Famous Benny topped with poached egg and salmon

The signature dish, The Famous Benny! Poached egg, avocado, salmon and macadamia sit on top of a crispy, nutty croissant. Every single ingredient was so fresh! The macadamia in particular was really~~ big and nutty, so at first glance I actually mistook it for chestnuts haha 🥑 The avocado was soft and delicious too — why can't I make it taste like this at home... I wanted the recipe!

Grilled mushroom toast

Grilled mushroom toast piled high with mushrooms

They told us grilling the mushrooms would take a bit of time, but it actually came out faster than expected. True to its name, the mushrooms were piled up like a mountain, so much that you couldn't even see the toast underneath! 🍄 There was a nutty poached egg on top here too. I wanted to take one huge bite, but with so many mushrooms and such a big slice of bread, I cut it up and ate it bit by bit haha. A really healthy, fresh toast that was full of mushroom aroma.

Acai bowl

Acai bowl topped with berries and granola

I missed out on acai bowls even during their peak trend, and somehow never had one on our Hawaii honeymoon either, so I had huge expectations for this one! 💜 On top of the slushy, refreshing acai purée there's a generous pile of frozen berries, banana, peanut butter, coconut and granola. The peanut butter portion was more generous than I expected, so once everything was mixed together the nutty peanut butter flavor really came through — and the crunchy texture made it fun to eat, like getting healthier with every bite.

And most of all, this was the dish our 4-year-old ate the best! 👍 With all its colorful, pretty look and cool sweetness, it must have been right up a kid's alley.

Strawberry smoothie ordered for the kid

Strawberry smoothie for the 4-year-old, coffee for the adults

The strawberry smoothie we ordered for our kid! 🍓 One taste and it was exactly like that nostalgic 'Jjayo Jjayo' popsicle flavor lol. Sweet and tangy, kids are guaranteed to love it, and honestly it kept pulling me back in too as an adult.

Americano and latte after the meal
Drip coffee served with tasting notes and cookies

Once we finished eating, the adults had a calm coffee break. ☕ We ordered Americano, drip coffee and a hot latte, and overall the coffee was solid and clean across the board. The drip coffee in particular came with tasting notes, which was nice to read while sipping, and it was as smooth as expected. The cute cookies they thoughtfully included made for a perfect finish!
