There are mornings when you just want a slightly more relaxed weekend brunch than usual. This time I went to a brunch spot in Mulgeum, Yangsan that opens early in the morning — Famous Venny, located in Oslo Park.

Famous Venny at Oslo Park opens at 8am every day
What I liked most was that it opens from 8am! A lot of brunch cafés tend to open a bit later, so having a place where you can eat brunch this early actually made planning a weekend morning much easier.

Famous Venny is located inside Yangsan Oslo Park. Since it's in an apartment complex commercial building, it wasn't hard to find, and personally, the easy parking was a big plus.

When you're driving to a restaurant, parking is usually the first worry — so having one less thing to stress about made the whole visit easier from the start. The Oslo Park parking lot offers 120 minutes free.

I visited around 9:30am on a Saturday! I was a little worried it might be crowded since it was the weekend, but because I came early, there was only about one family there. Thanks to that, I got to enjoy brunch at a relaxed, unhurried pace. If you want a quiet time slot, visiting a bit early even on weekends seems like a good idea.
What the Famous Venny dining room feels like

The inside of the store felt neat and tidy overall. Rather than a flashy, design-heavy space, it leaned more toward a clean brunch café that's comfortable to eat in.

By the window there are bar-style seats too, so coming alone for brunch wouldn't feel awkward at all.
A brunch café inspired by Australian coffee culture

Looking at the menu, I learned that Famous Venny was inspired by Australian café culture. It aims to be a space where you can enjoy fresh, healthy food alongside specialty coffee. Maybe that's why the menu leaned more toward hearty brunch dishes than the typical café fare.
Ordering the Famous Venny salmon, house salad and iced coffee

The brunch menu was way more varied than I expected. From the Famous Venny signature dish to French toast, salads, smoked salmon toast, avocado toast, and more — there were a lot of tempting options. What I ordered that day was the house salad (₩12,000) and, as the main, the Famous Venny salmon (₩18,000). I was curious about the other menu items too, but that's it for this visit! Next time, I'd like to try other brunch dishes.

You can't have brunch without coffee, right? I ordered a refreshing iced coffee, and it was delicious too.

Along with the coffee, there was also a card explaining the beans. Mine said it was Guatemalan Hyacinth decaf espresso.

The card also described notes of sweetness, hazelnut, candy-like flavor, and a smooth finish, which was fun to read. This isn't just a brunch spot — it's a good place to enjoy the coffee too.

House salad, 12,000 won: bright lemon dressing
When the house salad first arrived, the portion looked bigger than expected — I wondered, can I really finish all this? haha. As you can see in the photo, the plate comes packed full of vegetables. There was plenty of tomato, plus granola and various vegetables mixed in, so the texture wasn't monotonous at all. There was even an edible flower in the middle, so the plating was pretty too.
But I ended up finishing the whole salad ^^ The reason was the zesty dressing. It was a lemon-based dressing, so it was fresh and light, meaning I never got tired of eating the vegetables. Even though the portion was quite large, I kept reaching for more, and before I knew it, the plate was almost empty. If you want to get your veggies in while having brunch, pairing it with the house salad is a good move.

Famous Venny salmon, 18,000 won: filling, with a poached egg
And the dish I was most looking forward to that day was the Famous Venny salmon. Just from the photo, you can tell it's quite a generous plate, right? Salmon, avocado, a poached egg, and various vegetables come out with bread. At first, I ate the salmon together with the bread and vegetables. The salty salmon paired well with the bread and veggies. Then I tried it a different way, piling avocado, bread, and vegetables together. Mixing and matching within a single plate meant I never got bored, right until the last bite.
What I especially liked was that it comes with a poached egg! With brunch, sometimes the food looks pretty and tastes good but leaves you hungry again soon after. The Famous Venny salmon comes with both salmon and a poached egg, so I got my protein in and it was surprisingly filling. Popping the poached egg and eating it with the bread was great, and it also went well paired with the salmon. There was lemon served alongside too, so squeezing a bit over the salmon partway through made it taste even fresher.
When the food first arrived, with the salad on top of everything, I thought the portion looked like a lot. But in the end, I cleaned the salad plate completely, and only left a little bread from the Famous Venny salmon haha. It turned out to be a brunch combo that went down more easily than I expected.

The staff member who served me that day was also friendly, which made the meal comfortable. Since it was early morning, the store was quiet, and eating at a relaxed pace made for a nice start to the weekend.
Famous Venny in Mulgeum: the key points
If I had to pick Famous Venny's biggest strengths, it would be the 8am opening time and the easy parking. Even on weekends, moving early means you can enjoy brunch in a quiet time slot without a crowd, which I really liked. Especially if you have a morning appointment or a weekend date, being able to eat early instead of waiting until 10 or 11am makes this place quite useful.
The house salad was fresh and filling, and the Famous Venny salmon was fun to eat in different combinations of salmon, avocado, and poached egg. The coffee was tasty too, so overall I left satisfied with my brunch. There are still so many menu items I haven't tried, so I'd like to come back again for those.
In summer, it'd be nice to visit while it's still cool before the heat sets in, and in winter, warming up with a hot brunch and coffee in the morning sounds great. I'd recommend this to anyone who gets up early on weekends instead of sleeping in. If you want brunch early in the morning in Yangsan, start your day off at Famous Venny.
