A day my husband and I went out looking for a Mangwon dessert spot. PICT Roastery had been saved on my map for a while — I fell for it after seeing photos of its cozy, tidy interior and the fact that it makes its own pistachio tiramisu. It seemed like it would go perfectly with a cold americano, so we stopped by after lunch.
How to walk to PICT Roastery Mangwon Branch from Mangwon Station
PICT Roastery Mangwon Branch appears if you walk straight out of Mangwon Station Exit 2 and take a slight turn. The door propped wide open beside the building is the entrance!
The autumn sky was especially blue that day, but the sharp autumn sun still had us breaking a sweat. Right as we got close to the café, the "power cooling" sign propped out front made us both crack up — and honestly, it gave us a little extra energy to keep walking.

PICT Roastery Mangwon Branch is a space with white walls and wood-toned furniture, mostly filled with two-person tables. The restroom is inside the café, and the door is painted a light pink, so it was easy to find.
The window-side single seats have outlets, so they seemed great for working or charging your phone while you hang out. There actually were people reading books, plus solo customers quietly working on laptops.
Two-person tables are the main setup at PICT Roastery Mangwon. Lots of windows make it feel bright, and with white walls all around paired with wood-toned tables and chairs, the warmth is doubled!

Besides coffee, there's ade, matcha latte, choco latte, and a range of teas, so there's plenty to choose from. We each got an iced americano (₩4,900) and picked pistachio tiramisu as our dessert.
Since they roast their own beans and brew the coffee on-site, my expectations for the coffee were high.

Our two coffees and the dessert arrived. The cups were so cute, and the sight of them packed with ice felt like a ray of light for two people worn out by the autumn heat.
The tiramisu, topped prettily with finely crushed pistachio, looked like it would be a perfect match for the coffee just from the visuals! I fell for it even more once I saw how full to the brim they'd filled the coffee cup.
PICT Roastery had already built a word-of-mouth following at its Magongnaru location. Since they roast the green beans and brew the coffee entirely in-house, I really was expecting a lot from the taste. Just looking at the deep, dark iced americano, it felt impossible for it not to taste good — and honestly, it was even better than I'd hoped!
Honestly, that first sip of coffee was so good that I didn't have high hopes for the dessert — but this place earns its reputation as a Mangwon dessert spot, not just for coffee! Between the sheets soaked with espresso sat a carefully spread layer of pistachio cream, topped with another slightly thicker layer of cream and crushed pistachio. The finished dessert paired beautifully with the heavy, rich coffee!
I caught the moist, soft texture on video. Even though the two of us had just inhaled lunch, dessert turned out to be a whole different story — our hands kept reaching back for more.
How did the house-roasted coffee taste?
Sometimes places that don't take proper care of their beans leave you with an unpleasant heaviness, like a stale oily aftertaste — but the coffee at PICT Roastery Mangwon was the exact opposite. It won me over with a refreshing, cool feel the moment I first tasted it, then left a pleasantly heavy note that lingered the more I drank. If I lived nearby, this would definitely have become my regular spot for coffee.
It was also impressive how quickly the staff cleared tables as soon as customers left. This is a place where anyone can settle into the seat they want and enjoy their time comfortably.
There's even a small mirror on the wall that makes for a cute photo spot. The coffee had a nutty, refreshing flavor I loved, and the pistachio tiramisu was sweet without being overdone, with a soft texture that paired perfectly with the coffee. A great spot to rest for a while during time spent in Mangwon-dong, with friendly staff and a clean space — PICT Roastery.
