Now that the weather's cooled down, a lot of people are heading out for weekend outings, right? I recently went out to Haneul Park myself! After a good long walk, I was craving something cool and filling. So I searched like crazy for somewhere near Haneul Park with easy parking and genuinely good food — and that's how I found Sangam Hoegwan, a place word-of-mouth calls a true kongguksu (chilled soy milk noodle soup) spot. ✨ Having been there myself, it was even more satisfying than I expected, so let me tell you all about it right away!

Where is Sangam Hoegwan, and how is the parking from Haneul Park?

Sangam Hoegwan is located at 434 World Cup buk-ro, Mapo-gu, Seoul, in the basement 1 food court of Sangam IT Tower. Hours are weekdays 10:00–20:00 and weekends/holidays 11:00–20:00. (Since 2019, it apparently ran in Savoy City, Sangam-dong, before moving to Sangam IT Tower!)

The first thing I noticed getting here was how pretty and exotic the neighborhood felt! Tucked among the office buildings of the business district, right in front there's a foreign school and foreigners' apartments, so the whole street feels clean, quiet, and a little different.

And for anyone driving — the real killer perk! The parking lot is genuinely wide and comfortable. Parking near Haneul Park is usually a nightmare, but here there's plenty of space, so even new drivers can park without stress.

Weekends at Sangam IT Tower: Sangam Hoegwan is the only stall open

When I first got there following my navigation and saw it said "basement 1 food court," I was a bit confused — wait, is it inside a food court? 😅 But once I went down, it turned out that on weekends, Sangam Hoegwan was the only stall running in the whole food court! So we actually got to use the tables way more spaciously than at a regular restaurant — it was amazing.

No crowded feeling at all, totally open, and the restroom right nearby was close and well kept — spotless! It'd be perfect for bringing a baby chair, group gatherings, or family meals without worrying about other people around. 👶👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Watching delivery riders come and go nonstop while we ate, it seemed like this place has already become a local delivery favorite too!

Sangam Hoegwan menu and how to order at the kiosk

You can order easily and quickly through the kiosk in front of the store. Looking at the menu, it's a solid lineup starting from the signature original kongguksu, to pumpkin kongguksu, bibim guksu, perilla oil kimchi noodles, and dumpling set meals!

The self bar had plenty of sugar and salt ready so you can season to your taste — a nice touch! (Both the sugar camp and the salt camp for kongguksu can coexist peacefully here 😆)

How does the pumpkin kongguksu taste? Smoother than cream soup

As soon as the food arrived I was amazed by the look of it...💛 Just from the color alone, the pumpkin kongguksu has this beautiful, soft yellow tint! Honestly before tasting it I wondered, "Does pumpkin actually go with kongguksu?" but the moment I took one spoonful, my doubts were completely shattered. It's way more delicious than I expected!

The texture is smoother and heavier than cream soup, and there's zero of that beany off-flavor — the pumpkin's subtle natural sweetness and the deep nutty flavor of soybeans blend together perfectly. It's not an artificial sweetness; the more you chew, the more savory it gets, so you just keep spooning up the broth — it's got this addictive quality. The noodles are also nice and chewy, with the thick soy milk clinging right onto them — honestly, this earns its reputation as a top kongguksu spot in Sangam.

What comes with the bibim guksu and dumpling set meals

Since this is a kongguksu specialty spot, I didn't expect much from the bibim guksu (spicy mixed noodles). But guess what — the bibim guksu was genuinely delicious too! Crunchy shredded cucumber, seaweed flakes, and boiled egg are piled generously on top, and the special sauce hits that perfect balance of spicy-tangy-sweet without being overly spicy.

It has this clean, refreshing taste that resets your palate, so alternating it with the rich pumpkin kongguksu meant we could keep eating endlessly. If you're visiting with two people, I highly recommend splitting one kongguksu and one bibim guksu between you!

The dumplings that come with the set also had thin skins packed full of meat and vegetables, adding to the heartiness, and the fresh cut kimchi side dish was nicely spicy and paired perfectly with the noodles!

Stopping by after a walk along the Haneul Park course, with easy parking and finding a life-changing kongguksu on top of it, made for a genuinely great day!

• Space: On weekends it felt like a solo operation, so the space was huge and relaxed! Clean restrooms plus a wide parking lot!
• Recommended for: A Haneul Park date course, family meals with kids, group gatherings, or a relaxed weekend meal!
