Seosan garlic gopchang for groups of 70 in Mokdong, Seoul: Omokgyo
In short
Omokgyo Gopchang Mokdong Main Branch is a garlic gopchang (grilled beef tripe) restaurant in the alley in front of Exits 1 and 2 of Omokgyo Station in Yangcheon, Seoul. The order was traditional handmade garlic gopchang at 28,900 won, hwangso gopchang at 27,900 won, and Omokgyo fried rice at 6,900 won with cheese added, and the garlic gopchang was still full of gop (the rich intestine lining), which put any doubts about garlic gopchang to rest. Omokgyo Gopchang sits in the alley in front of Exits 1 and 2 of Omokgyo Station! The alley felt a little odd at first, but it's easy for first-time visitors to find. The clean, eye-catching exterior really stands out.
Menu prices and what we ordered at Omokgyo Gopchang

Omokgyo Gopchang's signature dish is the traditional handmade garlic gopchang for ₩28,900, made with Seosan yukjjok garlic (six-clove garlic). So many places use Chinese garlic these days, so I have to give major props for using Seosan yukjjok garlic 👏🏻 Because I'm from Seosan myself 😉 So I immediately ordered the traditional handmade garlic gopchang.

Table setting and interior of the Mokdong main branch

There's even a photo booth machine right at the entrance! I forgot to use it, so make sure you don't miss it..

To a mother's 30-year traditional touch, we've added whole garlic cloves sourced directly from a Seosan garlic farm. Grown in yellow-earth fields, Seosan yukjjok garlic has outstanding flavor and aroma, and is the special ingredient that completes the deep flavor of our gopchang. Today, with honest hands and only good ingredients, we continue to make 'Seosan whole garlic gopchang' in Omokgyo, Seoul, just as we always have.
With a statement like that, how can you resist Seosan yukjjok garlic 🧄🧄

The basic side dish setup looks like this ☝🏻

There's garlic and chili peppers hanging as decor haha, so cute 🧄🌶️

Traditional handmade garlic gopchang and hwangso gopchang: how much gop is inside?

The main dishes, traditional handmade garlic gopchang and hwangso gopchang, arrive! And of course, no gopchang meal is complete without a fire show.

It's a shame I couldn't get a pretty shot because of the wind 🥹

They also grill green onion kimchi and chives alongside the gopchang. Great palate cleanser when things get greasy 😎

Can you see how packed with gop (intestine lining) this is? I want to eat it again already,,, 🤤 Honestly, I don't usually like garlic gopchang — I always felt the gop was missing and the garlic just floated around without blending in. I only ordered it because it was Seosan yukjjok garlic, but wow, it completely erased my past misconceptions. Good garlic really does pair well with gopchang, and thanks to Omokgyo Gopchang Mokdong Main Branch's own know-how, even the garlic gopchang was packed full of gop! I'm 100000% ordering garlic gopchang here again haha.
Finishing with Omokgyo fried rice plus cheese, 6,900 won

Korea's national dessert: fried rice!!! You have to get the fried rice no matter what. Dessert stomach is a separate stomach, right?

Adding cheese is a must 🧀 Melt the cheese, press it into scorched rice, and this is basically heaven.

Group bookings for about 70 people: a Mokdong company dinner spot
Apparently they were even featured on SBS Live Today! Terrestrial broadcasters aren't paid to air stuff like that, right? With group bookings for around 70 people available, this place works fine as a company dinner spot — this has been Omokgyo Gopchang Mokdong Main Branch.
What Omokgyo Gopchang says makes its garlic gopchang different
[30 years of tradition, the original handmade garlic gopchang and green onion kimchi specialist, Omokgyo Gopchang] Omokgyo Gopchang isn't just selling taste. We prepare everything by hand every day to make even the smallest bite different. We've carried on our mother's 30-year-old recipe as it is, specializing in the original handmade garlic gopchang and green onion kimchi. As a restaurant that preserves the decades-long garlic gopchang techniques and essence passed down by our mother, we take pride in being Korea's number one garlic gopchang restaurant.
- Slaughtered the same day — every day, top-quality domestic beef and Korean native beef slaughtered that same day is sourced and lightly pre-grilled before serving.
- Over 200,000 sold cumulatively — the traditional handmade garlic gopchang is made by adding Seosan yukjjok garlic, sourced directly from a Seosan farm, clove by clove, which takes so much care that it's only offered in limited quantities.
- Handmade green onion kimchi — made and aged in-house using premium first-grade chili powder grown by the owners' own parents, following a mother's recipe from Hongseong exactly.
- Special dadaegi gopchang hot pot — deep, spicy broth made by simmering savory bone broth with a special dadaegi (spicy seasoning paste).
- Signature Omokgyo fried rice — stir-fried right in front of guests using 100% domestic chili powder, antibiotic-free eggs, and five fresh ingredients cooked in Korean beef fat.
- Fresh liver and cheonyeop (beef tripe lining) plus various side dishes — made fresh in-house every day.
- Secret sauce — a special spicy sauce aged 72 hours with 15 ingredients in-house, served alongside shiitake mushroom wasabi.
