Dog-friendly Daegu restaurant with yukhoe bibimbap: Taegyeongok
In short
Taegyeongok is a Korean restaurant on Gukchaebosang-ro in Dongin-dong, Jung-gu, Daegu, serving Hamhung naengmyeon (chilled buckwheat noodles) and Korean beef yukhoe bibimbap. On a weekend family lunch with a baby, the table at Taegyeongok held the Korean beef yukhoe bibimbap, a water naengmyeon, a spicy mixed naengmyeon and the house dumplings, and the quail egg side dish plus the small beef soup served with the bibimbap were just as good. Pets are allowed inside and the Jung-gu Office parking lot opens free on weekends, which makes Taegyeongok an easy choice for a family meal out.

Where is Taegyeongok in Dongin-dong, Daegu, and what are its hours?
Taegyeongok is a Korean restaurant at 704-1 Gukchaebosang-ro, 1st floor, Jung-gu, Daegu, near Exit 4 of Gyeongbuk National University Hospital Station on Line 2. It's open from 11 AM to 9:30 PM, with a break time from 3:30 to 5 PM, and closed on Mondays. Parking is available at a nearby public lot or the Jung-gu Office parking lot.
There are a lot of good restaurants in Dongin-dong, Daegu, but today we're heading to Taegyeongok, famous for its naengmyeon (cold buckwheat noodles) :)

We were all going out together with the baby this weekend and figured, let's get something good to eat! After a lot of searching, this is the place we found. Every time I walked past it I wondered what they served here — always thinking I should visit sometime — and finally I did! Taegyeong means 'great blessing and good fortune,' and honestly the vibe outside the shop already put me in a good mood haha.

Is Taegyeongok dog-friendly? Interior and seating
Taegyeongok welcomes pets, so everyone in the family can enjoy it comfortably :) The vibe is honestly just really nice — the big windows let in plenty of light, and it's fun to watch people passing by while you eat. It's near the Jung-gu Office too, so it'd be great for a casual meetup with friends.

You can choose between rectangular and round tables depending on your taste. We went on the weekend, when the Jung-gu Office parking lot opens free, so parking was easy.

Side dishes and kiosk ordering at Taegyeongok
Once you sit down, a spread of seasoned vegetable sides and basic banchan (side dishes) appears. Of these, the braised quail eggs were especially delicious! You know how it is — a good restaurant, you can just tell from the side dishes alone.

Ordering was easy through the kiosk at each table.
Korean beef yukhoe bibimbap ₩13,000 / Hamhung naengmyeon ₩12,000 (water or spicy mixed) / Taegyeongok dumplings ₩12,000 (6 pieces)
We went all out and ordered the bibimbap, water naengmyeon, bibim naengmyeon, and Taegyeongok dumplings!

What is Taegyeongok's Korean beef yukhoe bibimbap like?
Taegyeongok's signature dish in Jung-gu, Daegu is this Korean beef yukhoe bibimbap, priced at ₩13,000. It uses 1++ grade Korean beef, and you can definitely taste the difference! With plenty of seasonal ingredients mixed in, it felt light on the stomach even after eating.

When you order the bibimbap, they also bring out a small beef soup on the side, and wow, that broth is insane. Next time I'm ordering the beef soup as a full dish on its own!

How do the water and spicy Hamhung naengmyeon taste?
Taegyeongok's Hamhung naengmyeon is ₩12,000, and you can choose from four types — water, spicy mixed, water-mixed, or fire (extra spicy) — depending on your taste. It's technically fall now, but the afternoons are still hot and my thirst just wouldn't quit, until one bite of this naengmyeon totally cleared it out. Clean, cool, textbook naengmyeon flavor.

The noodles were also slightly spicy, which was perfect for someone like me who loves spicy food. I scraped the bowl clean haha.

Taegyeongok dumplings, 6 pieces for 12,000 won — worth ordering?
Taegyeongok dumplings come as a mix of 6 pieces — meat dumplings and kimchi dumplings. At ₩12,000 for 6, the value was great too :)

I especially loved the kimchi dumplings. For big dumplings like this, a thick wrapper is what makes it, and the thickness here was just right — the kimchi filling inside was spicy and delicious too.

Is Taegyeongok worth a family lunch in Daegu?
I also made good use of the little corner set up with toothpicks, hair ties, and mouthwash. For anyone looking for a good restaurant in Dongin-dong, Daegu, or a dog-friendly restaurant in Daegu for a satisfying meal, I recommend this place. That's my review of Taegyeongok, the restaurant near Gyeongbuk National University Hospital Station.
