Daegu Korean restaurant for bossam and potato pancake: Uldong Bossam
In short
Uldong Bossam (울동보쌈) is a Korean restaurant on Gyeongsang-gamyeong-gil in Jung-gu, Daegu. I ordered the small bossam set and cheese potato pancake; the moist, tender pork and varied side dishes made a filling meal, while the pancake was crisp outside and chewy inside.

I ate the small bossam and potato pancake at Uldong Bossam (울동보쌈) on Gyeongsang-gamyeong-gil in Jung-gu, Daegu. Ordering a bossam spread with several side dishes along with a potato pancake topped with cheese made for a filling meal.
Where is Uldong Bossam, and is parking available?
The address is 279 Gyeongsang-gamyeong-gil, 1st floor, Jung-gu, Daegu, South Korea. The exterior I came across along Gyeongsang-gamyeong-gil was clean and easy to enter. The listing said that parking was unavailable.

The hours listed in the original post were daily from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. The break time was from 3 to 4:30 p.m., and last order was at 9:30 p.m.
What was the atmosphere like for a meal with friends or family?
The dining area was bright, clean, and well organized. I could eat comfortably at the table without feeling cramped, and it seemed suitable for friends, couples, or families. Being able to order through the table-order system was also convenient.

How much did the bossam and potato pancake cost?
The bossam came in different sizes depending on the number of diners. That day, I ordered the small Uldong Bossam menu listed for two people at ₩29,000, along with a potato pancake for ₩9,000. The potato pancake came with cheese grated to your preference.
What came with the bossam spread?
Several side dishes came with the bossam. I heard that the side dishes are prepared in-house and that the ingredients change with the seasons. I liked being able to switch up the combinations by alternating the meat and side dishes or putting them together in wraps.

Once the small bossam was arranged on one table with the side dishes, it looked generous. It was a setup that let me take my time eating the meat with different accompaniments.

How were the bossam’s texture and portion?
The meat was cut into pieces that were easy to eat in one bite. When I tried it, it was moist and easy to chew rather than dry, and soft overall. I first tasted the meat on its own, then ate it with kimchi and the other side dishes.

I liked wrapping a piece of bossam and some side dishes in lettuce. Eating it this way was quite filling even without having a separate bowl of rice.

Did the cheese-topped potato pancake pair well with bossam?
The potato pancake was crisp on the outside and chewy inside. They grated cheese directly over the warm pancake, and I could have as much as I wanted. The cheese added a savory, nutty aroma that made the pancake good to eat between bites of bossam.

What kind of meal would I return for?
I felt it would be worth returning on a day when I wanted a filling bossam spread with several side dishes. The bright, comfortable atmosphere suited a lunch, and in the evening it also seemed suitable for having a drink with bossam.
