It was a drizzly day today. The weather was a bit gloomy, but since I'd already made plans to visit an all-you-can-eat freshwater eel restaurant, I left the house looking forward to some delicious eel haha. It's in Jijok-dong, Yuseong-gu, Daejeon, so I drove over after work — luckily I left a little early so traffic wasn't too bad, and I got there with time to spare!!!
Where is Songrimbok Jangeo in Daejeon, and is parking free?
📍 Songrimbok Jangeo Daejeon Direct Store is located at 1F 106-107, 60 Jijokbuk-ro 66beon-gil, Yuseong-gu, Daejeon. Parking was convenient in the lot right in front of the restaurant, and I liked that it was free!
Just don't forget to register your parking before you leave after your meal!
Inside Songrimbok Jangeo: a wide, comfortable dining room
Walking through the automatic doors, the first thing that caught my eye was just how spacious the restaurant was.
The interior was really clean and comfortable. Since it was raining and I came a bit early, there were some customers in the rooms but the main hall was still fairly empty, so I could enjoy my meal at a relaxed pace.

There were various seating options too — sofa seats, and further inside, room-style spaces.
It seemed like a great place for a family meal, but also a solid choice for a group dinner or work gathering in Daejeon. Since the restaurant is so spacious, it didn't feel cramped even with a big group.

Unlimited eel, pork belly and duck for 29,900 won per person
I looked over the menu, and true to an all-you-can-eat restaurant, 29,900 won per person got you not just eel but pork belly and duck as well. If you love eel but also want meat, it's a pretty solid setup!

After ordering, the table was set up neatly like this. Perilla leaves and onions in soy sauce, baek-kimchi (white kimchi), and pickled ginger — a must with eel — were all there. Since eel is a fatty food, eating it with ginger or something tangy cuts the richness and makes it taste even better.

How the self-bar works at Songrimbok Jangeo
On one side there was a self-bar set up, where you could grab more side dishes without hesitation, as much as you liked. At an all-you-can-eat place you end up going back for seconds and thirds anyway, and having a good self-bar meant I could just grab whatever I needed as I went.
And finally, the eel, pork belly, and duck arrived! They came out together on one plate, and the eel looked so plump and thick-fleshed that my mouth watered just looking at it.

Free bokbunja (black raspberry wine) with your eel
And the owner gave us a complimentary bokbunja (black raspberry wine)! Eel with bokbunja — what a combo haha. Eel really does call for bokbunja!!! Getting a little extra like this just made me even happier.

At the self-bar you could bring back as much eel and pork belly as you wanted, so once you finished the first round and wanted more, you just went and grabbed it. That's the beauty of all-you-can-eat haha.

Plump grilled eel and golden pork belly on the grill
Can you see how plump the eel is? They grilled the eel and pork belly on the grill until golden brown, and with the heat set just right, the meat and eel cooked up appetizingly faster than I expected.

The pork belly was really delicious too ㅠㅠ I went for the eel but ended up reaching for the pork belly over and over ㅋㅋㅋ The golden-brown pork belly was crispy outside and juicy inside, and switching between it and the eel meant I never got tired of either. The eel was thick-fleshed too, so one bite filled my mouth with that nutty flavor.

The sauces to dip Songrimbok's grilled eel in
You can't skip this sauce with eel, right? I dipped the well-cooked eel into the sauce and popped it right in my mouth. The eel's own nutty flavor combined with the sauce was just so good. And the eel sauce was plentiful on the table, so if I ran low I could just scoop out more right away.
Before I knew it, the plates were emptying one by one ㅋㅋㅋ It felt worth making the trip out on a rainy day.

Is Songrimbok Jangeo worth it for eel in Yuseong, Daejeon?
Songrimbok Jangeo Daejeon Direct Store was spacious and clean overall, making it a good fit for family meals as well as gatherings with friends or work dinners with a big group. Most of all, the biggest advantage is being able to enjoy unlimited freshwater eel plus pork belly and duck all together. For anyone who loves eel, being able to eat as much as you want is pretty appealing on its own.
