The interior had a different vibe than any salon I'd been to before — clean and upscale overall. The space itself was spacious too, so instead of that typical cluttered salon feel, it had a calm, comfortable atmosphere!

I booked with stylist Dain, and she first asked what style I wanted, then explained how best to approach it based on my hair's condition! You could tell she's handled all kinds of hair before — she immediately knew what my hair type was like and what shape it would take after perming.

I decided to straighten the wave growing out from the roots with magic straightening, and do a natural C-curl perm on the ends.

They start by neatly detangling the hair, and even the steps before applying the perm solution are done carefully! She explained that the pre-treatment shampoo clears out leftover oil or silicone residue in the hair and replenishes what the hair needs.

She told me that ivory-colored stuff was residue from perm products I'd used in the past. I never even knew this kind of thing was left in my hair,, this time they carefully cleared out all that leftover perm residue and got my hair's condition sorted before starting the actual treatment!

And so I wouldn't get bored during the treatment, they set me up with drinks, cookies, and even chocolate. For drinks there was coffee, tea, juice, soda, and even non-alcoholic beer..!

How the perm on damaged hair was done, step by step

Once the pre-treatment was done, the perm solution was applied all over! Since my hair was pretty damaged overall, she kept checking its condition throughout. Even during the shampoo, she said this was the moment my hair was weakest, and washed it gently without rubbing.

After the shampoo, we moved seats to continue with the setting perm. My hair, with all its thickness and uneven condition, wasn't an easy job, but she worked through it step by step!

Next, she used a flat iron to carefully straighten the wave from the roots down. She said if there's no moisture at all it can leave marks easily, so she went slow and gentle at a low temperature, almost like ironing.

Neutralizing and the hair treatment in a massage chair

At the very end, after the oxidation-neutralizing step, they do an acid rinse and treatment — and get this, you can lie back in a massage chair while it happens..! That's exactly when fatigue peaks, so getting a soothing massage while neutralizing felt like the tiredness just melted away — it felt like real self-care. And they kept caring for the hair to prevent damage right to the very end!

And so my hair was done..! Not a single damaged spot, and the waviness was straightened out so well! I wanted a style that would naturally hold its shape without much fuss on busy mornings, and it came out exactly like that — I was so satisfied!

She also gave me detailed instructions on how to dry and care for it at home. I really felt how important it is to have someone understand your hair's condition well and design a style that fits it. It reminded me once again that you should trust your hair to a real expert who's handled a lot of it!
