Minrak Waterside Park café with kiwi juice: Working Holiday Minrak

I'd been saving Working Holiday Minrak on Instagram after searching for Gwangalli brunch cafés with a good view, and finally made it there.

The moment I walked in, it felt so exotic I could've sworn I was abroad, and the Gwangan Bridge ocean view was so, so pretty. I went for brunch this time, but next time I want to come back just for a coffee!! Definitely coming back!!

Where is Working Holiday Minrak? Hours and parking

Working Holiday Minrak is on the 7th floor of Badamaru, 29 Minrak Suyeon-ro, Suyeong-gu, Busan (Minrak-dong 181-223), South Korea. It's open daily from 9:00 AM to 10:30 PM, with last order at 10:00 PM.

Parking is available in the building's basement lot — 1 hour free, and up to 4 hours supported per day (with a purchase of ₩10,000 or more).

This was day two of a one-night, two-day Busan summer trip in August. We stopped by for brunch after checking out the Hulk statue at Minrak Waterside Park.

Working Holiday Minrak sits at the very end of Minrak Hoe Center Street, on the 7th floor of the Badamaru building where the Starbucks Gwangan Subyeon Park branch is also located. There's a kiosk machine right by the entrance.

Inside Working Holiday Minrak: an airy space with a Gwangan Bridge view

Let me show you the atmosphere of Working Holiday Minrak first — I took lots of photos. I loved the spacious, open layout with its hip, exotic interior.

The high ceiling with big statement lighting was the highlight!! It felt like being on vacation. Wood-toned tables and chairs mixed with lush green plants throughout gave it a warm yet relaxed atmosphere.

It's a real ocean-view spot — the floor-to-ceiling windows frame the cool Gwangalli sea and Gwangan Bridge perfectly.

The tables were spaced generously too, so there was no cramped feeling at all. Being the weekend, it was pretty crowded with customers. A Gwangalli hotspot!!

The vibe here is seriously amazing!!! I kept saying it out loud.

Thanks to the bright natural light pouring in through the windows, every corner made for a pretty photo. After ordering, I got lucky and found a beautiful window seat free right away, so I grabbed it fast.

I really loved the terrace space at Working Holiday Minrak — you have to go out there.

Step out onto the terrace and you get the cool sea breeze along with a full view of the Gwangalli sea, the beach, and Gwangan Bridge all at once. The ocean view is the best!

You can order at the kiosk near the entrance, or with a staff member at the counter.

The bakery section has egg tart, lemon pound cake, and tiramisu, plus coffee, non-coffee drinks, ades, and even alcohol and wine.

They were also selling Working Holiday branded short-sleeve tees and hoodies.

First meal of day two: jambon pizza and shrimp oil pasta

It was day two of the trip, but after lounging around at a jjimjilbang (Korean sauna), this ended up being our first meal, so I ordered it as a brunch-slash-proper-meal — jambon pizza & shrimp oil pasta, plus kiwi juice.

After ordering, we took selfies because the view was so good, chatted about how amazing it was, and after a bit of a wait, the buzzer went off to let us know our food was ready.

You just go pick it up at the counter!! I snapped a photo holding our food, and it really is a top ocean-view spot in Gwangalli. Eating while looking out at the cool Gwangalli sea made everything taste even better.

Clam and shrimp oil pasta, ₩19,000

If you love seafood, this is the dish I'd recommend! Plump shrimp and clams sit in a spicy oil sauce. With cherry tomatoes, garlic, arugula, and lemon, it came out as a refreshing-feeling pasta overall. You can choose the spice level, and I went spicy.

Working Holiday Minrak is a place I'd recommend as a Gwangalli pizza spot too.

Jambon pizza, ₩26,000

This pizza is piled high with jambon ham made in-house from pork foreleg, topped with pistachio cream. The savory jambon combined with the pistachio cream and cheese made for a better pairing than I expected! It also has mozzarella and burrata cheese, so cheese lovers especially will love this.

※ Note: since pistachio is used, it's difficult to make this dish without nuts, so keep that in mind if you have allergies!!!

Kiwi juice, ₩7,500

We also ordered a refreshing kiwi juice, which paired well with the food. Since Gwangalli Beach and Minrak Waterside Park are both close by, it'd be great to go for a walk or check out the sea right after a satisfying meal! Good for a date, or a stop with friends on a Busan trip.

Is Working Holiday Minrak worth a second visit?

Personally, I was really satisfied getting the Gwangalli ocean view, the atmosphere, and the food all in one place. Next time I want to sit a little more leisurely with a cup of coffee and take in the Gwangalli sea, so I'm planning to visit again. Definitely coming back haha.
