Third visit for cheese gopchang and sundae in Dongseong-ro, Daegu
In short
With Gopchang & Makchang Dongseong-ro Branch is a vegetable gopchang (grilled intestines) restaurant on the 2nd floor of an alley in Dongseong-ro, Jung-gu, Daegu. On a third visit, two servings of vegetable cheese gopchang came with added sundae (Korean blood sausage) sari, barely any gopchang smell and a generous amount of glass noodles, cheese and sundae. Between the rabbit Timo mascot in the middle of the shop and the folding-door window seats, it's worth another trip when craving gopchang anju (drinking snacks) in Dongseong-ro.

Today I want to introduce a Dongseong-ro gopchang place I've already visited three times, haha. It's With Gopchang & Makchang! We love the vegetable gopchang here so we've already come three times lol. This time we did something a little special — vegetable cheese gopchang with added sundae sari!

Finding it: 2nd floor of a Dongseong-ro alley

With Gopchang & Makchang is located on the 2nd floor of 28-13 Dongseong-ro 4-gil, Jung-gu, Daegu, South Korea! It's tucked inside an alley, so first-timers should keep an eye out for the sign, haha.
Inside the shop and the folding-door terrace seats

The interior had more seating than I expected and felt clean. The window seats especially are folding-door style, so you can open them right up — on a nice day it feels like outdoor drinking-tent dining!

Timo, the rabbit in the middle of the shop
And in the middle of the shop lives a cute rabbit named Timo 🐰!! This was already our third visit, so seeing Timo the moment we walked in felt like meeting an old friend lol. Every time we come, Timo's so cute that we end up watching before the food even arrives!
The menu and the Naver receipt review event

Here's the menu at With Gopchang & Makchang! There's a wide range — vegetable gopchang, vegetable cheese gopchang, stir-fried sundae, grilled makchang and more. This time we ordered two servings of vegetable cheese gopchang plus added sundae sari, haha.

They were also running a Naver receipt review event! Write a review and choose either a canned drink or a hongcho for soju. There were a few kinds — green apple, bokbunja, pomegranate — and per the sign on the wall it looked like they'd also give out patbingsu after a review. If you visit, definitely check out the event, haha.

The vegetable cheese gopchang and side dishes arrived in a generous spread! It wasn't just the gopchang alone — with all the side dishes too, the table was completely full, haha. Here's the detailed review after we ate it all up ~♥

The side dishes
The side dishes were steamed egg, soy-pickled onion, beondegi, corn salad and fruit cocktail, along with ssamjang, garlic and lettuce! I liked that it was a good lineup to mix and match with the gopchang. 👍🏻

Vegetable cheese gopchang with added sundae — how was it?
Finally the main dish, vegetable cheese gopchang! The gopchang was piled with vegetables and glass noodles, all covered in a thick layer of cheese — it looked amazing from the start :) With the added sundae sari, the portion was seriously generous!
When I lifted the gopchang with the tongs, the cheese stretched way out lol. If you love cheese, you won't be able to resist this visual!

First I tried a piece of gopchang, then a piece of sundae! There was almost no trace of that distinctive gopchang smell and the texture wasn't chewy at all, so it was easy and smooth to eat.

This time I scooped up a big bite of cheese and glass noodles together! The chewy noodles stretching along with the cheese, eaten together with the gopchang, made for a whole different flavor, haha.

The fun of mixing with the side dishes
At first we ate the gopchang and sundae plain on their own, then started mixing them with the side dishes in different ways! Wrapping gopchang and glass noodles in lettuce with a bit of garlic was delicious, and pairing it with the pickled onion or corn salad was also great, haha. Vegetable gopchang really is fun to eat in all sorts of combinations, and as the photos show, it's a total drinking companion dish ~ ♥

A snack for Timo and coffee candy on the way out
After finishing up full, before leaving we said goodbye to Timo one last time and gave a snack! Up top there are some greens you can feed Timo, haha ☘️. Cute from the moment we walked in, and I ended up watching Timo right up until we left 🐰

And as we were paying and heading out, the owner gave us coffee candy to freshen up! Little touches like this made it a pleasant place to leave, haha.
Wrapping up a third visit
With Gopchang & Makchang is a place we like enough to have visited three times already! This time, instead of our usual vegetable gopchang, we tried vegetable cheese gopchang with added sundae sari — the cheese piled on top made it look amazing, and eating it together with the glass noodles and sundae made for a really generous portion. Plus, opening up the folding doors by the window lets you enjoy an outdoor-drinking-tent vibe on a nice day, and there's a cute rabbit named Timo in the shop to watch while you eat 😍
For anyone in Dongseong-ro looking for vegetable gopchang or vegetable cheese gopchang, or anyone who's hesitated about eating gopchang because of the usual smell, this place should be a good fit!! We enjoyed this visit too, and next time we'll try to come back for a different menu item, haha. If you're looking for good gopchang in Dongseong-ro, Daegu, With Gopchang & Makchang is well worth a visit ♥
