Thanon55 is a Thai restaurant at 16 Ttukseom-ro 9-gil, 1F #203, Seongdong-gu, Seoul. It's open 11:30–22:00 with a break time from 15:00 to 17:00, and closed every Sunday. On this visit, the gamjatang pho (bone-broth noodle soup) was ₩13,000 and the pad pong curry was ₩21,000.

Inside Thanon55: a room that feels like a Bangkok back alley

From the door onward, Thanon55 had such an authentic Thai feel I genuinely wondered if I was still in Korea. From the props to the overall atmosphere, it really felt like a local eatery straight out of a Bangkok alley haha ,,

On top of that, both owners are Thai, so the local vibe was absolutely on point 🇹🇭👍👍🏻

The interior overall is decorated in colorful yet warm yellow tones, so just looking at it lifted my mood 💛 On the back wall there was even Thai currency and a mirror shaped like the country of Thailand?! Total Thai vibes 💪🏻

What I ordered at Thanon55, prices and the self-serve corner

This time I confidently ordered two dishes: gamjatang pho and pad pong curry 🍛🥣 The pad pong curry was ₩21,000, which is unheard-of pricing for Seoul ,, it's usually over ₩30,000 basic, so this was such a good deal 😇🪽 And it was delicious too haha.

The self-serve corner had som tam(?)-style sides and pickled radish ready to go, and since it's self-serve, you could just help yourself comfortably !! 🍒🍑🍈🍋

Gamjatang pho, 13,000 won: the hangover cure at Thanon55

Thanon55's gamjatang pho is ₩13,000, and it was exactly what I needed as a hangover cure after drinking the night before. Bone-broth hangover soup pho, of all things ,,, the best 👍🏻 🦴 Genuinely perfect for curing a hangover, haha.

Just looking at it made me feel full already, so I properly started my eating mode ˃̶͈◡˂̶͈ !!!!!! The gamjatang pho came out first, and I took a sip of the broth — hangover cured . . . 🫀

The broth is rich, heavy, and deep with meaty flavor that just clears out your insides — the kind of taste that makes you gasp in admiration haha. And the meat on the big bones was so tender and soft it just melted in my mouth the moment I took a bite, coming off the bone perfectly 🤤🫠

Is the 21,000-won pad pong curry at Thanon55 worth it?

Thanon55's pad pong curry is ₩21,000, and it's the ultimate rice thief. I went in with high expectations for the pad pong curry ,, 🦀 and honestly, no need to say more haha. I already love pad pong curry to begin with, so Thanon55's version was an absolute favorite !! 👀

Fried seafood that's crispy outside and moist inside, topped generously with a soft, rich curry sauce — every bite had me gasping in admiration, it was that mind-blowing 🤍

Does Thanon55 work as a date spot in Seongsu?

Thanon55 has such a bright, exotic mood throughout that it's genuinely great for making special memories with someone you love over good food 🥺✨ If you're looking for a good-vibe, no-fail date spot around Seongsu, definitely hold hands and go check out Thanon55. You absolutely won't regret it 💯
