Seongsu burger restaurant for wasabi shrimp patties: bd Burger
In short
bd Burger Seongsu Station Yeonmujang-gil Lunch & Dinner is a burger restaurant in Seongdong, Seoul. I tried the weekday lunch set with a wasabi shrimp burger and eggplant fritters; the thick patty, refreshing wasabi sauce, and crisp-yet-juicy eggplant were especially good. Verdict: a worthwhile stop for a different kind of shrimp burger in Seongsu.

Since I was in Seongsu-dong for the first time in ages, I carried on with my little restaurant tour. I do not eat much beef and I am a seafood-loving person, so if a burger place has a shrimp patty, I always order the shrimp burger—and I even deliberately seek out places that sell them. There was a burger spot near Seongsu Station where shrimp burgers are the main event, so I had to go :) You can practically feel how good it is in the video too ↑

bd Burger on the second floor of a Seongsu alley
bd Burger is tucked away on the second floor in one of Seongsu-dong's hip little alleys.

Since shrimp burgers are the focus, the shrimp burger on the sidewalk sign immediately catches your eye too.

Even the wall along the stairs to the second floor makes a statement with a burger poster in bold, vivid colors.

I saw the lunch-set poster saying it can only be ordered on weekdays from 11:30 to 13:00, thought, Oh, this is today's lunch, and decided immediately. Shrimp burgers are the signature here, but of course you can try beef-patty burgers too.

This Seongsu Station burger spot works well whether you are eating alone or coming with a group. It is neat but has colorful accents, and every table has a tablet for ordering from your seat.

There is a decent amount of seating in the L-shaped space.

Water, forks, knives, ketchup, straws, and so on are available at the self-service bar, which was kept very neatly organized.

You can refill soda once per person too. As someone who tends to drink lots of soda when eating out, that was welcome :-)

Other than the tablet menu, there is no separate menu board that lets you take everything in at a glance, either in the restaurant or on Naver Map.

A wasabi shrimp burger from the weekday lunch set
There are two discounted weekday lunch sets: the Double Cheese Burger Set and the Wasabi Shrimp Burger Set. Naturally, I ordered the shrimp burger. Each set comes with a burger, side, and drink.

Along with the regular Wasabi Shrimp Burger I ordered, there is also a big-size version if you want something even larger and more substantial. But the regular shrimp patty is already plenty hefty, just saying. There is another shrimp burger too: the Grilled Shrimp Avocado Burger, made with flame-grilled whole shrimp, avocado, and a spicy sauce. It sounds delicious for avocado lovers, but it is not part of the lunch set, so that one is for next time 'ㅅ'

After ordering on the tablet, a ready notification pops up on it once everything is prepared. Then you go to the pickup bar to collect your burger. My soda came out right after I ordered, while the burger and eggplant fritters came later after the tablet notification.

Crisp, juicy eggplant fritters and a thick shrimp patty
Rather than the fries people commonly have with burgers, eggplant fritters are bd Burger's signature side. As an eggplant-loving person, there was no way I could skip them.

The burger arrives fitted securely into a stand-like holder, so it keeps its shape and comes out looking nice and tidy.

bd Burger's Wasabi Shrimp Burger has a delicious combination of a thick shrimp patty, green mustard leaves, and wasabi sauce salad, which adds a refreshing flavor without being too strong.

Burgers really are best eaten in one hand, so I carefully picked it up and got to it.

The eggplant fritters come with what is probably chipotle sauce, and its spicy flavor goes so well with them. The coating is super crisp while the eggplant inside is moist and juicy—just as delicious as I hoped. Fries are great with a burger, but at bd Burger I recommend trying the eggplant fritters for something different.

This is the regular burger, not the big size, but the shrimp patty is still seriously thick. I took another photo because I think this one shows its generous size even better!

It may be a little hard to eat neatly, but it is delicious, so I worked hard to eat it without spilling too much ^_^

And here is the wonderfully full cross-section too! Shrimp burgers are the main signature here, but judging by the burger quality, I think the beef-patty burgers would be good as well. The weekday lunch set is especially good value, so bd Burger is worth a stop if you are looking for a tasty burger place in Seongsu-dong :D
