Isu Station bar with outdoor seating: gopdoritang at Rainbow Pocha
In short
Rainbow Pocha Isu Branch is a Korean bar in Dongjak, Seoul, a three-minute walk from Isu Station Exit 11, with retro pyeongsang (low wooden bench) seating indoors and in the outdoor yajang. The order at Rainbow Pocha was gopdoritang (spicy chicken and beef intestine stew) with chicken feet at medium spice for ₩39,900, plus self-serve rice balls and steamed egg (₩6,000) and nostalgic tteok-twigim (fried rice cakes, ₩9,900); the pot of chicken, chicken feet, glass noodles and Hanwoo beef intestine was plenty for two. Between the retro bench seats and a stew hearty enough to call for rice, Rainbow Pocha Isu Branch is a solid pick for a night out near Isu Station.

A yajang (outdoor drinking spot) bar near Isu Station with great gopdoritang

Rainbow Pocha Isu Branch has a great retro vibe, the food is tasty, the drink selection is wide, and the atmospheric outdoor pyeongsang seating is the best — a bar near Isu Station I really want to recommend!

Where is Rainbow Pocha Isu Branch, and what are its hours?
Rainbow Pocha Isu Branch is at 1F & 2F, 40 Dongjakdae-ro27ga-gil, Dongjak-gu, Seoul, open daily from 16:00 to 04:40 the next day. It's a 3-minute walk from Isu Station Exit 11, so even on my first visit it was super easy to find!
They also offer a 10% discount coupon for Naver Reservation bookings, so I'd strongly recommend booking through Naver before visiting Rainbow Pocha~
Inside Rainbow Pocha: 1F room, 2F benches and the outdoor yajang
Rainbow Pocha Isu Branch is laid out across the 1st floor, 2nd floor, and an outdoor yajang. Inside the 1st floor there's even a private room-like space, and the interior is bright, so my first impression was really good!
The 2nd floor has a great atmosphere too~~

This Isu Station restaurant, Rainbow Pocha, has pyeongsang bench seating on the 2nd floor too!! The yellow vinyl flooring and retro table won me over instantly haha, and there's even a fan hahaha. It felt like visiting grandma's house back in the day, haha.
This is the outdoor yajang area with pyeongsang seating!! It looked like it'd be popular so I sat right down in the yajang haha. From the cushion stacks to the bamboo in the background, this had the most unique concept of any bar around Isu Station! Total. Scene. Stealer.

Drinks at Rainbow Pocha: lemonade ₩4,500, peachtree highball ₩5,900
Shrimp chips came out as the basic side snack~ haha

Wow... this is my first time ordering lemonade at a bar.... haha. My hangover must've been that bad if I'm ordering lemonade... My friend who joined me isn't great with alcohol, so she added extra syrup to her peach tree highball and said it was sweet and delicious! Haha

Nostalgic tteok-twigim (fried rice cakes), ₩9,900
I ordered the nostalgic tteok-twigim (fried rice cakes) as a side dish at Rainbow Pocha, this Isu Station bar, and the sauce tasted exactly like the one from my childhood, so I kept thinking about elementary school the whole time I ate. I guess I've reached the age where tteok-twigim is a drinking snack now... haha.

Gopdoritang with chicken feet ₩39,900, plus rice balls and steamed egg ₩6,000
At Rainbow Pocha, an Isu Station spot known for its gopdoritang (spicy chicken and intestine stew), I ordered the gopdoritang with chicken feet along with self-made rice balls and steamed egg. The pairing of chicken feet and gopdoritang was great, and the rice balls and steamed egg were tasty too — this place would work well even just for a proper meal!

Is there anyone who dislikes steamed egg? Haha. I've never met a single person in my life who did!!! The steamed egg had a drizzle of sesame oil, so it was nutty and went perfectly with rice!
Rice balls are what naturally come to mind when eating a spicy broth~~ I made the self-made rice balls carefully to eat together with the gopdoritang, haha.
Since it's gopdoritang with chicken feet, it's loaded with not just chicken but chicken feet, glass noodles, and gopchang (intestine) too, so the portion was a lot for two people to finish!

How spicy is the medium (level 2) gopdoritang?
Before ordering the gopdoritang with chicken feet, you get to pick a spice level, and even though I'm pretty confident with spicy food, today I went with the safe choice — level 2, deliciously spicy medium! Medium had just a slight kick that even people who can't handle spice could enjoy comfortably, so it was a crowd-pleasing level of spicy. Just a little spicy gopdoritang~ how delicious is that~

The gopdoritang with chicken feet at this Isu Station spot Rainbow Pocha let me enjoy two dishes in one menu, which was so great haha. Eating the tender chicken, Hanwoo beef intestine, and chewy chicken feet together felt more like a proper delicious meal than just a drinking snack, haha.

Eating the gopdoritang with chicken feet made me crave rice, so I ordered a bowl of rice at a bar for real the first time in ages haha — actually, is this the first time I've ever ordered rice at a bar...? This place makes a snack so good it calls for rice.

Other chicken dishes on the Rainbow Pocha Isu Branch menu
Rainbow Pocha has a whole lineup of great chicken dishes — dakbokkeumtang (spicy braised chicken), Hanwoo gopdoritang, rosé dakbokkeumtang, mala dakbokkeumtang, land-sea-air dakbokkeumtang, soy-braised jjimdak, and kimchi jjimdak. If you love chicken feet, I'd highly recommend trying the gopdoritang with chicken feet, which is delicious even for chicken feet fans!!!
