In short

Jangheungjip Seongshin Women's University branch is a pork BBQ restaurant on Dongsomun-ro 22-gil, near Seongshin Women's University Station in Seongbuk, Seoul. The writer ordered the medium mixed platter — one serving each of two-plus grade beef brisket, pork belly and pork neck, with beef brisket doenjang stew included — then finished with minari fried rice and kimchi noodle soup. What is on the menu at Jangheungjip, a BBQ restaurant near Seongshin Women's University?

The menu at Jangheungjip Seongshin Women's University branch runs from fresh-frozen pork belly to mixed platters, beef brisket, fried rice, and noodles. There are so many BBQ restaurants around Seongshin Women's University, but I personally love pork dishes like pork belly, so I went with a meat menu again haha 🤭 There were plenty of good side dishes to pair with the meat too.

We wanted to try several cuts at once, so we ordered the medium mixed platter + minari fried rice + kimchi noodle soup!

What comes with the medium mixed platter at Jangheungjip

Jangheungjip's medium mixed platter comes with one serving of two-plus grade beef brisket, one serving of pork belly, one serving of pork neck, and even beef brisket doenjang stew (soybean paste stew) included.

When I go eat meat, I prefer trying a little of several cuts rather than sticking to one menu the whole time, so I was glad we went with the mixed platter 🥩 Pork belly especially — you can't skip it when eating BBQ! Grilled until golden brown, it's delicious wrapped in lettuce with side dishes, or just dipped lightly in salt.

Pork neck felt cleaner-tasting than pork belly, so alternating between the two kept things from getting repetitive, and the beef brisket was thin so it cooked fast and had a nutty flavor, making it good to grill first.

Minari (water dropwort) platter and grilled kimchi on the grill

Something that caught my eye on Jangheungjip's menu was the minari (water dropwort) platter. If you like the combo of meat and minari, this pairing might be great for you 🌿 Eating vegetables like minari alongside meat cuts through the greasiness a bit, so I kept reaching for it.

I always make sure to eat kimchi with meat too, and grilling the kimchi lightly in the meat fat before eating it together — this combo never fails haha ㅋㅋㅋ

If you're looking for good food near Seongshin Women's University and want to eat pork belly or several cuts at once, the mixed platter seems like a solid choice.

Minari fried rice after the meat

Minari fried rice cooked on the grill plate

One of the things I care about most at a BBQ restaurant is the finishing fried rice 👀 Jangheungjip has minari fried rice, so I ordered it right after the meat. It's not just plain fried rice — the minari makes it feel a bit fresher and lighter after eating meat! You know how fried rice still goes in even when you're already pretty full from meat…haha. Especially eating fried rice on the leftover grill plate, where the flavor of the meat you'd been grilling has soaked in a bit — it just tastes even better somehow 🫶🏻

Kimchi noodle soup, Jangheungjip's signature side

And we didn't stop there — we ordered kimchi noodle soup too. The menu said it was 'our restaurant's signature side dish,' so I was curious and ordered it along with everything else. Having something cool and refreshing after eating meat cleaned up my palate nicely. After BBQ you crave something with broth or noodles, like doenjang stew or naengmyeon (cold noodles), and kimchi noodle soup turned out to pair pretty well with the meat too. Finishing with kimchi noodle soup after already eating fried rice made me feel like I'd had a really proper meal 😇
