Yongsan Donkatsu Onjeong has it all — solo seats for those eating alone, plus 2-person and 4-person tables. There really were solo diners there, and a lot of people with young kids too. Since the cutlets and sauce are handmade, it seems like that's why so many families feel comfortable bringing their little ones.

They even have baby chairs ready for the little ones! No wonder so many parents bring their kids here.

What two people ordered at Onjeong: cheddar cheese cutlet and a soba set

<< Order (for 2 people) >>

  • Cheddar cheese cutlet
  • Soba & Western-style pork cutlet

The cutlets at Yongsan Donkatsu Onjeong Gyeongyang Sikdang, Yongsan branch are handmade using Doduram Korean pork. They even make the sauce from scratch, so it's a meal full of care.

Cheddar cheese pork cutlet

A plate of cheddar cheese cutlet topped with rich melted cheese

If you're a cheese lover, you have to try the cheddar cheese cutlet. It's not store-bought cheddar sauce — they melt real cheddar cheese, so the cheese flavor is incredibly rich.

The single cutlet dish comes with two big cutlets, so we were super full afterward.

Maybe because it's Doduram Korean pork, there was no gamey smell at all, which I really liked.

Soba and Western-style pork cutlet set

Table setting with Western-style cutlet and buckwheat soba set

You can also order pork cutlet with a udon or buckwheat soba set, so I ordered the Western-style cutlet as a soba set.

The soba set that comes with one pork cutlet

With the set menu, you get udon or soba instead, but only one cutlet! The soba portion was pretty big though, so even with just one cutlet I was really full.

Cold buckwheat soba topped with green tangerine

The cold buckwheat soba was way tastier than I expected. Since it's a pork cutlet restaurant, I didn't have high hopes for the soba, but wow... the combination of the citrusy green tangerine scent and the savory broth was amazing. The green tangerine is domestically sourced too, making Onjeong Gyeongyang Sikdang, Yongsan branch a place you can trust!

Dinner rolls, strawberry jam and mushroom cream soup

We finished up with dinner rolls and strawberry jam. Such a nostalgic sight — I hadn't had Ottogi strawberry jam in a while, and it really tastes like childhood memories haha. It's a slightly cheap-tasting jam, but sometimes that's exactly what hits the spot!

Mushroom cream soup served as a default side

Both the single cutlet dish and the set menu come with mushroom cream soup too — dipping the dinner roll in it is absolutely delicious.

Handmade pork cutlets made with care using only good ingredients — Yongsan Donkatsu Onjeong Gyeongyang Sikdang, Yongsan branch. A great spot near Hyochang Park whether you're eating alone or with kids!
