Modam Urban is a Korean restaurant at 10 Gukjegeumyung-ro, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, on level L3 of IFC Mall in Yeouido. It's open 11:00 - 22:00 with last order at 20:30. They've got Wi-Fi, reservations, separate men's/women's restrooms, high chairs, and can accommodate groups.

Starting my review of Modam Urban, the go-to spot for Korean food dates and group meals in Yeouido, right by IFC Mall 🔆

I went with my boyfriend after work to try some good Korean food at Modam Urban, this Yeouido date spot! We booked ahead through Catch Table before heading over!

Modam Urban's atmosphere and private room seating

Such a clean, distinctly Korean vibe for an IFC Mall restaurant ;) There are private rooms too, so this place would be great for friend gatherings, dates, or even a meeting-the-parents kind of dinner!!!

The Korean aesthetic is on full display! Would be great to bring foreign friends here too 👍🌈🫧

What comes free with a main at Modam Urban, and what we ordered

With any main dish, Modam Urban gives you a full round of free appetizers. Black sesame mung bean porridge, a whole-grain yuzu salad, mushroom pyeonyuk with truffle chamnamul, spicy mushroom gangjeong, smoked duck naengchae, and perilla oil cappellini 🤤

What a generous place…!!! So good!!?!?

Such a wide menu, really great!!! The table was neatly set with utensils, water, and wet wipes ✨

Black sesame mung bean porridge to start

Here's the black sesame mung bean porridge that comes free with any main 🌈 Eating this before the meal really settles your stomach, a great appetizer :) Didn't know black sesame and mung bean went together this well!!! Hahaha, such a delicious porridge 🫧🔥🔥🔥

Then came the whole-grain yuzu salad, mushroom pyeonyuk with truffle chamnamul, spicy mushroom gangjeong, smoked duck naengchae, and perilla oil cappellini all together!!! The mains hadn't even come out yet and the table was already full 💟

Now I get why this place works for meeting the in-laws. A tabletop this loaded with Korean dishes — older folks would love it!!!

Perilla oil cappellini, the free appetizer worth coming for

The perilla oil cappellini especially was totally my taste. Thin noodles, full of perilla oil fragrance, so nutty I kept going back for more ~~~ ❤️🔥

Crab-broth octopus pasta, 29,900 won

And then one of today's main dishes arrived, the crab-broth octopus pasta ^^ The octopus was thick and clearly good quality >_< 👍👍👍

That distinct savory, refreshing crab flavor soaked right into the noodles, so it got better the more I ate!!!

Mixed seafood jang with gim butter rice, 29,900 won

Then the second main, mixed seafood jang with gim (seaweed) butter rice, came out 🔥 You mix the rice into the gim butter and eat it with the perfectly seasoned seafood jang!

The soy-marinated shrimp was prepped so the shell peeled off easily 👍 Not too salty, and it went perfectly with the butter rice ~~~~

Abalone, octopus, and all kinds of seafood with that nutty butter rice — the combo is amazing!!! Definitely the go-to spot for a Korean food date in Yeouido!!! Hahaha

The side dishes that came with it were great too ~~~

They even brought out milk pudding for dessert 💗 Felt like a truly complete meal :) Total Yeouido Korean food date spot 👍👍👍

Great for a hanjeongsik-style meal or a date, and I'd genuinely recommend it as a meeting-the-parents spot too — this was Modam Urban, the IFC Mall restaurant 😍⭐️💟
