While traveling around Gwangalli with my partner, I heard about a newly opened pizza restaurant and got curious, so we went to check out Extra Mile‼️ The menu ranges from pizza to pasta, and there's a set menu perfect for two people, which made it a great Gwangalli date spot♥️

Extra Mile looks like it used to be a house, so it has a totally different vibe from restaurants in the busier commercial areas😎 Tucked into a quiet alley a bit away from Gwangalli Beach, I actually loved that a Gwangalli Italian restaurant like this was hiding here♥️

Inside, Extra Mile blends wood and white for an overall warm yet clean feel — comfortable enough for lunch, but also perfect for an evening date✨ Besides the 4-person tables, there are also bar-style seats that are good for sitting alone, so you can use the space comfortably depending on your group size

✔️Choosing the pizza and pasta comes with no extra charge, so we picked hot honey pepperoni + birria taco pizza, and white ragu for the pasta

After ordering, coloring paper and colored pencils(?) were set up at each table, so while we waited for the food my partner and I doodled and colored together haha. Coloring made the time fly by — the wait was really enjoyable ♥️

The house salad, perfect to eat before the meal, is centered on butterhead lettuce — the leaves themselves are softer and moister than a typical salad. Rather than a crunchy bite, it melts gently in your mouth, which made it a great starter, and honestly the sauce was amazing too🤤♥️

White ragu pasta at Extra Mile

Extra Mile's white ragu looked a little different from the white ragu pasta you'd typically imagine — the noodles in particular were really unique

The sauce is piled generously on top, and once you mix it well, it clings heavily between the noodles — with every bite, the rich, savory flavor of the ragu came through🤤❤️ Rather than feeling like a heavy cream coating your mouth, the umami and richness from the meat took center stage, so it paired surprisingly well with the pizza too

Hot honey pepperoni and birria taco half-and-half pizza

Extra Mile's half-and-half pizza comes with no surcharge for choosing — freshly baked, the smell alone had me practically drooling

I tried the hot honey pepperoni first — the first bite brings the salty, spicy taste distinctive to pepperoni, followed by the sweetness of the hot honey✨ Add in the savoriness of the cheese, and it's not just a spicy pepperoni pizza — the sweet-salty-spicy combo was quite addictive. Best of all, the spiciness keeps popping up in between so it never feels greasy — a real pizza-restaurant moment🫶

The birria taco was a bit unfamiliar even by name, but the meat topping combined with cilantro made for a pizza full of exotic flavor unlike a typical pizza‼️ I was glad we ordered half-and-half, because one side was sweet-spicy pepperoni and the other was the deep richness of birria — the flavors were clearly different within a single pizza, so we never got tired of it until the last bite
