In short
Songdo Jonghap Eosijang is a seafood and sashimi restaurant at 165 Haedoji-ro in Yeonsu-gu, Incheon, open 365 days a year. On a weekday evening, two diners ordered the small grilled king prawns (daeha) for 39,000 won, which arrived with a full spread of chogochujang vinegar-chili sauce, white kimchi, corn mayo salad and a bubbling pot of steamed egg. Hey guys~ Enjoying the crisp autumn weather? Now that fall's here, everyone's out hunting for daeha (big autumn prawns) and craving fresh sashimi in that cool air!
I was craving grilled king prawns with my boyfriend too, so we headed to Songdo Jonghap Eosijang (송도종합어시장), famous as a Songdo sashimi restaurant! Even on a weekday evening, this place was packed!
So let's get into my honest review of eating grilled king prawns at Songdo Jonghap Eosijang ◟( ˘ ³˘)◞ ♡
Where is Songdo Jonghap Eosijang, and what are its hours and parking?
Songdo Jonghap Eosijang is a Songdo sashimi restaurant located at 165 Haedoji-ro, 1F, Yeonsu-gu, Incheon. It's open from 10:30 AM to 12:40 AM the next day, 365 days a year, no closed days.

Here's the outside of the building!! Since conger eel and daeha prawns are the seasonal fish of autumn, we came for the prawns too haha. It's located in a commercial building near a mixed-use apartment complex in the international district, so it's super accessible, and with 2 hours of free basement parking it was really convenient too~

They also sell a sashimi set meal for lunch, and at ₩12,000 that's such a steal haha. Also, this was the first time I'd seen a fish tank kept this spotless!! You could really tell they cared about hygiene haha. Okay, let's go inside the restaurant now haha

Inside Songdo Jonghap Eosijang: the room and the menu
Inside, Songdo Jonghap Eosijang is really spacious — spacious enough to have group seating. Even on a weekday evening, tables were pretty full with groups, couples, and families.
Here's the inside. The place is so big that I couldn't really shoot the other side since a big group was dining over there haha. Because the restaurant is so large, groups come here, but also plenty of couples and families~

The menu had everything — single items, assorted platters, sekkoshi (thin-sliced small fish sashimi), seasonal seafood, sushi, and rice meals. It's great for stopping by for seasonal sashimi, but you can also get a hot spicy fish stew and sushi, so it works whether you're here for a proper meal or for sashimi with a bottle of soju.

Songdo Jonghap Eosijang apparently sources the freshest top-grade live fish from Yeonan Pier every dawn, catching it fresh as needed. That's supposedly why locals in Songdo talk about this place so much. Prices are reasonable and portions are generous, so it's also good for company dinners, and while we were eating I kept hearing the 'ding-dong' sound of Baemin (delivery app) orders coming in lol. Delivery and takeout are available too, so you can enjoy fresh sashimi comfortably at home!!!!

Is the 39,000-won small grilled king prawns enough for two?
We came as two and ordered the small grilled king prawns, priced at ₩39,000~ The staff set up the table right away!! Vinegar-chili sauce, soy sauce, chili, wasabi, ssamjang, garlic, corn mayo salad, and white kimchi!! They gave us plenty, no holding back.
And then the grilled prawns came out fast!! Right from the start there was this crackling sound in the pot — turns out that was the prawns jumping around lol. They really piled on fresh, plump prawns. Sorry prawns (?) lol.
Plus bubbling steamed egg!! Can they really just give this out as part of the basic table setting?? It was a big portion, soft and fluffy, and so delicious! Even if you just order the basic sides plus the grilled prawns, it comes out really generous.

As time passed the prawns turned a nicely browned red!! The staff checked to make sure they were properly cooked and told us they were ready to eat haha.

It's autumn~ and it's so good. Just looking at the prawns grilled nicely with salt made my mouth water. The meat was really plump, and the prawns were big enough that the two of us ate our fill and left full.

I even carefully peeled one and shaped it into a heart lol. They asked if we wanted the prawn heads grilled in butter, but we passed this time~! If you love prawn heads, be sure to ask for the butter grilling.
Is Songdo Jonghap Eosijang worth a visit for autumn prawns?
Great value, a spacious restaurant, and most importantly, a Songdo spot where you can eat your fill of fresh seasonal sashimi and daeha prawns!!! That's it for my honest review of eating grilled king prawns at Songdo Jonghap Eosijang, the year-round open Songdo sashimi restaurant.
