What the one-on-one appointment-only salon feels like

I visited after confirming my booking through Naver Reservation. Since the salon runs on a private 1:1 reservation system, I got to have the whole time entirely to myself, which I really liked.

The salon's atmosphere was absolutely clean and tidy. And since it's a 1:1 reservation-only place, it felt quiet and private.

The interior itself was clean and stylish, and the soft background music was really lovely.

Madeleine Hair in Gangneung isn't just known for great hair — it's already famous for its good coffee too. I'd recommend enjoying a cup of coffee while you're there!

The salon is run by two hairdressers. Because it operates on a reservation system, each client is handled 1:1 by a dedicated stylist, and one stylist takes care of everything from cut to shampoo to blow-dry, which guarantees the quality of the final result.

What was the layered cut process like?

Before the layered cut, I went in for a shampoo first. As expected of an officially certified Aveda salon, the shampoo itself was done with natural Aveda products. After the shampoo, they applied essence for the hair's condition

carefully all over, and then the treatment began.

Unlike a factory-style hair shop, the consultation went into detail from the start. Since the cut was tailored to my face shape, it came out looking really natural.

They matched the length exactly to what I wanted, too.

The blow-drying touch was so comfortable that I nearly dozed off sitting there.

They finished by carefully styling every last bit of my hair,

and even kindly explained how to style it myself at home. The blow-dry was thorough too. As expected with a layered cut, my hair felt noticeably lighter.

Aveda finishing oil and how my hair looked the next day

Lastly, they applied Aveda's oil essence.

They applied plenty of oil, so even the next day my hair still felt silky and light.

Since the treatment was done with Aveda products that are 96% natural, there was zero scalp irritation.
