Where to eat near Lakeside CC in Yongin: Daejisikdang Mohyeon

We were looking for somewhere to eat near Lakeside CC in Cheoin-gu, Yongin, and ended up at Daejisikdang Mohyeon~~! It stays open pretty late so the timing was easy, and the parking lot was big and easy to use. I was extra excited to hear they use Berkshire K pork here. Berkshire K is a purebred black pig breed improved in Korea, a domestic black pig brand developed by Dr. Park Hwa-chun.

What we ordered: Berkshire K pork belly, pork neck and rice dishes

You order using a tablet at the table~~! For our first order, we got two servings of Berkshire K pork belly (samgyeopsal) plus one serving of Berkshire K pork neck. And for the meal menu, we ordered a whole range — steamed egg, nurungji, kimchi jjigae, and bibim naengmyeon, haha.

The two servings of Berkshire K pork belly and one serving of Berkshire K pork neck came out like this~!! They grill the meat for you on the charcoal brazier~

The side dishes came out clean and tidy overall. There were also several different dipping sauces for the meat.

The best part: staff grill the pork for you

What I liked most was that they grill the meat for you! These days, having someone grill it for you is more comfortable than doing it yourself... and it's also easier to keep talking~~ I personally love myeoljeot (salted anchovy sauce), so I was glad it came out too :) The meat itself was really delicious~~ The pork neck wasn't tough at all and was nice and tender, but personally the Berkshire K pork belly suited my taste a little more.

They grilled the mushrooms that came with it nicely too, and cut them into easy-to-eat pieces!

How were the steamed egg, nurungji, kimchi jjigae and bibim naengmyeon?

And the steamed egg we ordered earlier!! It came out more generous than I expected. It wasn't overcooked or dry — just the right soft texture — so it was great to eat alongside the meat.

The nurungji (scorched rice soup) came out nice and nutty too! Sometimes when you order nurungji at a restaurant the rice grains are too small or it's a bit disappointing, but here it was nutty and clean, and I enjoyed even the broth.

And the kimchi jjigae~~ Personally, of everything we ate that day, the kimchi jjigae was my favorite. The kimchi itself was tasty and there was quite a generous amount of meat in it. The tofu pieces were big too, which made us order an extra bowl of rice~~

The bibim naengmyeon (spicy cold noodles) was decent, personally speaking. It was fine as a palate cleanser after the meat, but of everything we had that day, the kimchi jjigae, steamed egg, and nurungji stayed with me more.

Is Daejisikdang Mohyeon worth a visit?

There's a coffee machine set up inside too~~ mixed coffee and brewed coffee~~ Overall, the side dishes were clean and well-presented, and having the meat grilled for us made it a place we could enjoy comfortably. If you're looking for somewhere to eat near Lakeside CC, or a spot to have meat with kids around the Mohyeon area, this place is worth keeping in mind :)
