I met up with a friend I hadn't seen in a while, so I took a little trip into Seoul 💜💜 This time we were meeting at Jonggak, and since it had been so long, I wanted to eat some meat, have a drink, and talk comfortably — so I went looking for somewhere quiet and found this place!

Where is Yukrab Jongno and how do you book a table?

Since I wanted a meat restaurant with a private room, Yukrab Jongno was my immediate pick haha. This Jonggak favorite is about a 2-minute walk from Jonggak Station (Line 1) Exit 4, so accessibility is really good 👍👍

Naver Reservation was available, so we booked ahead before visiting 😁 You can even make group reservations through Naver Reservation — the group room seats anywhere from 5 to 18 people! It would make a great spot for a work dinner too haha.

If you're driving, there's a public parking lot nearby that isn't too far, so it shouldn't feel like a hassle.

What the private room at Yukrab Jongno looks like

As soon as we walked in, we were shown to our room.

The basic side dishes were already set up in advance, timed for our arrival 💜 It was really hot out that day, but the air conditioning was already blasting, which was so nice.

You could order jingalbisal (thin beef ribs), lamb chops, yangnyeom sogalbi (marinated beef ribs), hanwoo tenderloin duo, sirloin, tosisal (skirt-adjacent cut) and more à la carte, and there were also set menus if you wanted to try several cuts at once.

And the thing that really surprised me — soju is ₩3,000!! Since we love a drink, we're always thrilled to find a place with such affordable prices for alcohol.

What comes in the Yukrab galbi set for two: jingalbisal, lamb chops and yangnyeom galbi

The Yukrab 2-person galbi set we ordered! It's made up of jingalbisal, lamb chops, and yangnyeom galbi, and for someone like me who likes both beef and lamb, a set where you can try several kinds at once is exactly right.

Look at this spread — it's absolutely wild 🧡 If you keep eating just one kind of meat it can get a bit tiring, but being able to eat beef and lamb together means there's the fun of picking and choosing, and you never get bored.

Along with the meat came side vegetables like mushrooms, scallions, and cherry tomatoes.

Grilling just meat on the pan is one thing, but grilling a variety of vegetables alongside it makes the whole meal feel so much more abundant — I loved that they prepared such a well-rounded spread.

And of course, the hearty doenjang jjigae is a must, right? The galbi set doesn't just come with meat — it also comes with doenjang jjigae and grillable cheese!!

Yukrab Jongno is a Jonggak meat restaurant that focuses on quality and price so more people can enjoy beef and lamb — they mainly use Australian and American wagyu, and they also have a hanwoo (Korean beef) 1++ tenderloin option for those who prefer hanwoo 👍👍

Since it had been so long since I'd seen my friend, I wanted somewhere we could talk comfortably rather than somewhere too loud — so having a space this private to eat meat in was exactly what I wanted.

I was really looking forward to the lamb chops! Apparently Yukrab uses lamb under 12 months old, and since it's Halal-certified lamb, I could eat it with even more peace of mind.

Some people can't handle lamb's particular smell, but maybe because Yukrab uses young lamb, the meat was genuinely tender and I barely noticed that characteristic gamey smell — so it probably won't feel intimidating!

We chatted away while grilling away haha. I think I'll come back here often, whether for a date or whenever I have plans! Getting older, I've definitely started seeking out spaces with private rooms — being able to talk quietly with no stress is just so nice 😁

Why Yukrab Jongno works for two: the mood, the price and the window seats

Compared to how upscale the atmosphere feels, the meat prices were definitely on the lower side, so it's a great spot to meet a friend for a relaxed, unpressured meal 🧡 The atmosphere, the price, the taste — everything checked out, and I felt amazing that day!

The portion was generous even for two people. I liked it so much that I want to come back again soon — next time I'm thinking of bringing my husband.

It's a clean, pleasant place to eat with a nice atmosphere too, so it would actually be perfect for a blind date, don't you think? Haha. And if you find rooms a bit stuffy, there are window seats too, so no worries!

We finished off with the yangnyeom galbi, and every single piece of meat was so tender and delicious — I was happy with every bite 🧡🧡
