Anseong Gongdo large café for four lattes and butter toast: Chat Baker

In short

Chat Baker is a 500-pyeong, two-story brunch and bakery café on Seodong-daero in Gongdo-eup, Anseong. On a weekend family visit, the writer ordered four lattes at once — café latte, house-made vanilla bean latte, Oatly almond latte and raw chocolate latte — plus a croissant, custard cream butter toast, pizza bread, mocha bread and cream puff bread. With sofa seats facing the water curtain downstairs and floor seating for groups upstairs, Chat Baker works well for a family outing.

I went with my family this past weekend to Chat Baker, a bakery café in Anseong Gongdo, haha.

Inside Chat Baker: 500 pyeong over two floors and the water-curtain sofa seats

Chat Baker is a huge café — 500 pyeong across two floors! You can tell it's a large café the moment you walk in, haha.

First floor seating and spacious hall at Chat Baker

This is the first floor — the tables are spaced far apart, so it's comfortable for conversation, haha.

There are soft sofas and a water curtain out front, so it's great for a little healing trip, haha. Perfect for zoning out and watching the water 👍

Dog-friendly terrace and second-floor floor seating for groups

Chat Baker's outdoor terrace seats allow dogs! Seems like a great spot to bring your dog on a nice day, haha.

Going up these stairs takes you to the second floor, haha.

There are several more tables on the second floor plus group seating, and I saw a lot of families visiting together, haha.

There's also floor seating like this, haha. With the floor-to-ceiling windows and high ceilings, it doesn't feel cramped at all!

The interior is clean and the café is pretty quiet, so it seemed like a good spot for laptop work or studying too, haha.

And every seat has an outlet, which is convenient 👍

Chat Baker menu: drinks, brunch and bakery

Chat Baker has a wide range of drinks — drip coffee, bingsu (shaved ice), coffee, juice, smoothies, tea, lattes, ades, and more — and the coffee menu can be switched to decaf, haha.

They also serve brunch items like pasta, risotto, gnocchi, and salad, so it's a good spot to catch up with friends over conversation, haha.

There's a good range of meal-replacement breads like campagne and ciabatta too, along with cookies and baked snacks that are great for dessert, haha.

Four lattes compared: vanilla bean, Oatly almond and raw chocolate

At Chat Baker I ordered a café latte, house-made vanilla bean latte, Oatly almond latte, and raw chocolate latte! They say everything from the vanilla bean syrup to the raw chocolate is made in-house, haha.

Croissant, custard cream butter toast and pizza bread at Chat Baker

Chat Baker's bread is kneaded and baked fresh every dawn! No artificial additives go into the dough, and instead of margarine or blended butter, they use 100% milk butter only, haha.

The croissant is seriously flaky and the butter flavor is insane,,,♥

This is the custard cream butter toast — the moist white bread and sweet custard cream go so well together, haha.

The sausage in the pizza bread is delicious too, and it's totally sweet-and-salty — highly recommend!

The bread was so good we ended up ordering more, haha. Mocha bread with coffee is,,,♥

The cream puff bread is packed with cream, sweet and delicious, haha. If you're in the Anseong area, definitely check out Chat Baker Brunch & Bakery Café, the big café everyone's talking about♥
