Hi everyone! It's Meek 🫶

On the day I went to test-drive a Tesla at Starfield Anseong, I looked for a nearby café where I could also work on my laptop. Why? Because... I had to make a PowerPoint for a family meeting before the wedding........

I stopped by Chat Baker, about 10 minutes by car from Starfield Anseong. What I ordered that day was the coconut fresh mango bingsu (shaved ice dessert) and an iced Americano.

Where is Chat Baker, and how is parking near Starfield Anseong?

Chat Baker is located at 4391 Seodong-daero, Gongdo-eup, Anseong-si, Gyeonggi-do, inside 512 Square. The free parking lot at 512 Square is spacious, so it was easy to bring the car.

Even though it was a weekday, there were quite a lot of customers, but the space is large so it didn't feel cramped. Bakery items and drinks are available daily from 9am to 11pm, with last order at 10pm. Brunch and pasta can be ordered from 11am to 8pm.

Interior and seating at this large café between Pyeongtaek and Anseong

As soon as I walked in, the zen-style interior caught my eye. In the white-toned space, wood, stone, and plants blended naturally. The low stone tables, floor seating, and flower vases were exactly my style, so I kept looking around. Since I'm currently thinking about interior design for my new home, I liked it so much I wanted to just copy it haha.

Both the 1st and 2nd floors have a variety of seating, including regular tables and sofa seats. Since I needed to open my laptop, I sat at a wide table. If you're visiting to work, it's a good idea to check where the outlets are before sitting down.

What is on the brunch and bakery menu at Chat Baker?

True to being a brunch café in Anseong Gongdo, they also sell pasta, risotto, and salads. Besides brunch, there was a wide variety of bread — salt bread, kouign-amann, campagne, and cakes.

The showcase held slice cakes, while the display shelves had cookies and packaged bakery items. That day, instead of a meal, I chose the coconut fresh mango bingsu.

Coconut fresh mango bingsu at ₩35,000: how does it taste?

The coconut fresh mango bingsu is ₩35,000, and the Americano is ₩5,900. In a large bowl, fresh mango is arranged widely around the edge, with coconut shaved ice piled high in the center.

The mango was sliced thin, so it was easy to scoop up together with the bingsu. The sweet, soft fresh mango was paired with the nutty flavor of coconut. There was a generous amount of mango and toppings, making it a good size to share between two or more people. Drinking the iced Americano while eating the bingsu cleansed my palate — a good combination.

The mango wasn't just scattered lightly on top — it was generously arranged all the way to the edge of the bowl..!! I never felt like the mango was running low while eating, and the coconut ice in the center had a nuttier flavor than regular milk-based ice cream, pairing well with the fresh mango.

At ₩35,000, the price felt a bit high at first, but considering the size and amount of mango, it was plenty to share between two people. If you like mango desserts, it's really worth ordering with coffee...

Even if you bring your parents, you know they secretly love sweet things — this hits just the right level of sweetness that older folks tend to like, not too sweet, and I've heard comments like that from them haha.

If you're planning to visit Starfield Anseong or Farm Land, it's a good distance to stop by on the way. Next time, I'll try to visit a little earlier to try the brunch and bread too.
