Grilled fish set before Seoul cruise with 2hr free parking near
In short
Hwadeogeuro Gan Godeungeo Bansang Yeouido is a Korean grilled fish restaurant near Saetgang Station in Yeongdeungpo, Seoul. A couple stopped by before boarding a Seoul cruise and had the grilled mackerel set for ₩13,500 and the grilled hairtail set for ₩20,000, plus self-bar side dishes and 2 hours of free parking in the building's basement lot. A great spot for a hearty, tidy fish set when grilling fish at home feels like too much hassle.

Why grilled fish before boarding the cruise

My husband and I went to Yeouido to catch a Seoul cruise, and stopped by Hwadeogeuro Gan Godeungeo Bansang Yeouido beforehand to fill up on dinner. We didn't want anything too heavy before the boat left, so a Korean meal that's gentle on the stomach but still filling sounded perfect. A set with fish grilled golden in a wood-fired oven, warm rice, soup and side dishes — exactly what we needed!
We both love fish, but grilling it at home is a bit of a hassle because of the smell and smoke, so a neatly plated grilled fish set felt like such a satisfying meal.

We drove and used the building's basement parking lot. When you pay, just give them your plate number and they'll register you for 2 hours free parking.
Interior atmosphere and seating

Honestly, every interior these days is so pretty haha. You can tell from the entrance alone that it's a clean, well-kept space, right?

The bright ivory and wood tones gave it a refined but not too formal Yeouido hanjeongsik (Korean set-meal) feel. The tables were spacious and good for groups, so this also looks like a solid spot for Yeouido work dinners or gatherings. A fair number of families were in for a meal out, and honestly I thought about bringing my own parents here too. It's clean and comfortable — I think they'd love it. 🤍

What's at the self bar
There's a self bar set up on one side, where you can help yourself to as much as you like of wrap greens, kimchi, pickles, japchae (stir-fried glass noodles), soup and other side dishes that go well with grilled fish.

I went for tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes) before even touching my rice, haha.
What we ordered: grilled mackerel set and grilled hairtail set
- Grilled mackerel set ₩13,500
- Grilled hairtail set ₩20,000

We ordered the grilled mackerel set and the grilled hairtail set. Both come as individual sets, neatly plated with grilled fish, rice, soup, side dishes and wrap greens.

How the grilled mackerel tasted
First up, the grilled mackerel! Maybe because it's cooked in the wood-fired oven, it wasn't overly oily.

Barely any fishy taste either — I could've eaten just the mackerel without rice and been happy. 🤤 I'm pregnant so I need to get enough protein, and this mackerel was perfect for that haha.

How the grilled hairtail tasted
The grilled hairtail was light and the flesh was incredibly tender. Not too heavily seasoned either, so it went really well with rice! I actually prefer hairtail grilled light like this over a saltier style — much more my taste.

I'm terrible at deboning fish, but my husband neatly picks out every bone like a pro haha. I always wonder how he does it so well... moments like this make him extra charming to me 🤣🤣

It was my first time eating grilled fish wrapped in greens! 🥬 The fish and ssamjang (seasoned dipping sauce) went together way better than I expected, and we ate really well.
