The tables were spaced generously, which made it perfect for chatting comfortably with company. It's a comfortable space that would work great both for a work dinner or a date.

Free sides: sundubu-jjigae and scallion kimchi
Omokgyo Gopchang gives you sundubu-jjigae (soft tofu stew), chives, cheonyeop (beef tripe), tuna salad, and scallion kimchi as basic sides!

Above all, the sundubu-jjigae's spicy paste had real depth of flavor, and the scallion kimchi really seemed to be the signature dish.

Ordering one serving of beef gopchang and one of grilled daechang
We ordered one serving of gopchang and one serving of daechang.

The beef gopchang and grilled daechang we ordered came pre-seared once cleanly in the kitchen. That's great because it cuts down a lot on the effort and time of grilling.

The tableside torch searing show
After bringing the meat to the table, the staff member put on a flashy torch fire-show performance right there, which was visually delightful and also gave the surface of the meat a deep smoky char that made it look so much more appetizing! This was the first time I'd seen a fire show at a gopchang restaurant, so it was pretty surprising haha 😆

Since they use fresh Korean beef slaughtered the same day, the beef gopchang was packed tight with savory fat inside! The plump grilled daechang was crispy on the outside, and the moment you bit in, savory melted fat spread smoothly through your mouth. They grill the restaurant's signature 'original scallion kimchi,' a complimentary side, right on the grill along with the meat — pairing it with the meat, its tanginess perfectly balances the richness for an incredible combination.

Finishing with 6,900-won Omokgyo fried rice
Honestly, I was already full, but after finishing the gopchang, there's an unmissable K-dessert: fried rice.

As expected, its slightly spicy, savory flavor exploded, and it was the perfect hearty way to finish the meal.

Restrooms and the black-and-white self-photo booth
The restroom was amazing — not only was it inside the restaurant, they even had mouthwash in there! Such a nice touch.

On the way out, you can even take a black-and-white self-photo, so we left having had a really fun meal.
Who Omokgyo Gopchang suits best
I'd strongly recommend this to anyone near Omokgyo Station who wants a high-quality Korean beef gopchang experience that's a treat for both the eyes and the mouth. With generous space between seats, it's also a great choice for an after-work company dinner or a date.
