Today I visited Suwon Station after a while to do some proper shopping before heading to China, haha. So I made sure to eat properly first too, and before wandering around shopping I stopped by a Japanese-style yakisoba place that's great for solo dining. It's not intimidating to eat alone at Suwon Station, and it was perfect for having a tasty yakisoba and then enjoying a full day of shopping!

Evening atmosphere at Jojo: fine for solo dinner or a date
I went straight to Jojo AK Plaza Suwon right after work!! Maybe because it was dinnertime, but a lot of people were there eating solo or on dates, all enjoying their food. It felt comfortable for eating alone, and the atmosphere was also just right for enjoying Japanese-style yakisoba on a date!

The 18,000-won solo yakisoba set: does it really look like the model?
What I ordered was the Jojo solo yakisoba set for ₩18,000, made up of mentaiko gyoza (pollock roe dumplings) and Jojo yakisoba. I mean, the food should really look exactly like the display model for a place to count as legit, right?? haha So I carefully checked the menu model first, haha, and then ordered the solo yakisoba set! Let's see how closely it actually matches the model, haha.

Wow!! It really came out looking exactly like the model, so cool, haha. Food should absolutely look like its display model! Another great part is that you get to watch the yakisoba being cooked right in front of you. Watching it sizzle away on the teppan made it look even more delicious, and being able to see the whole cooking process was a total win for me.
How is the mentaiko gyoza? Crisp outside, juicy inside, with mentaiko mayo
Mentaiko gyoza + mentaiko mayonnaise
Jojo's mentaiko gyoza comes with mentaiko mayo sauce! You can dip it and enjoy the salty flavor of the pollock roe together with the savory mentaiko mayo sauce, which makes it even tastier, haha.
And unlike regular gyoza filled with glass noodles, the inside had a moist, crab-meat-like filling! So the texture was really unique, haha. The outside was crispy while the inside was moist — total crispy-outside-juicy-inside! Dipped in the mentaiko mayo sauce, it was salty and savory and honestly way tastier than I expected, so I finished it all up!!
Jojo yakisoba: the noodles and toppings
And Jojo's yakisoba really had springy, bouncy noodles!! The sauce was evenly coated on the noodles too, and it was neither too salty nor too sweet — the seasoning was just right. The springy noodles had a great chewy texture, and combined with the well-blended sauce, I kept reaching for more the moment I took a bite, haha. Japanese-style yakisoba really is all about the noodles.
The yakisoba also came with pork and squid mixed in, so the umami was on point too!! Eating the springy noodles together with the meat and squid made it even tastier, haha. It's a great place to grab a solid meal while shopping at AK Plaza Suwon, so I'd recommend it for both solo dining and dates! Try some Japanese-style yakisoba while you're shopping at AK Plaza Suwon!
