Shio fried rice dinner at Jojo, an iron-griddle restaurant in Songdo

In short

Jojo Triple Street Branch is a yakisoba, okonomiyaki and monjayaki iron-griddle restaurant on the first floor of Building B at Triple Street in Songdo, Incheon. After a 15-minute wait booked through Catch Table, the writer ordered donpei-yaki at 9,000 won, shio fried rice and Jojo yakisoba at 14,000 won, with oolong tea and zero-sugar cola instead of alcohol. The shio fried rice, packed with big shrimp and squid, and the savoury donpei-yaki were the highlights, and the karai soba is next on the list.

Today's post is about Jojo, a yakisoba, okonomiyaki and monjayaki spot in Songdo Triple Street, Incheon!

It's open daily from 11:30 to 23:00 — check the image above for hours and more details :)

Where is Jojo Triple Street Branch, and where do you park?

Jojo is located on the 1st floor of Building B in Songdo Triple Street, Incheon. The Triple Street underground parking lot always offers 5 hours free, so it's convenient to park underground! I parked there too.

Sign for Jojo, an okonomiyaki specialty restaurant

The sign is big so it's not hard to find! From the sign alone you can tell it's an okonomiyaki... specialty place. My expectations were already high from the entrance, and inside was completely full.

How long is the wait at Jojo? 15 minutes with Catch Table

At Jojo Triple Street Branch I put my name on Catch Table in front of the store and got in after about 15 minutes! It seems to be a chain from the chef who appeared on Culinary Class Wars 2 (흑백요리사2)! They also sell monjayaki, which is trendy right now.

It was full when I visited so I couldn't take interior photos, but there were about 10 tables, made up of 2-seat and 4-seat tables.

You get a KakaoTalk notification, so it's nice to browse around nearby and come back when you get the alert :)!!

Every table at Jojo has its own griddle, so you can eat everything warm, which is why okonomiyaki and monjayaki are so popular there, apparently! You can eat a bit cheaper if you order the signature set, so keep that in mind :)!!

How to order at Jojo, and what we ate that night

You order by writing your menu items on this paper prepared at the table and handing it to staff :) The design is so cute haha.

  • Jojo yakisoba ₩14,000
  • Yakisoba fried rice ₩12,000
  • Donpei-yaki ₩9,000
  • Zero cola ₩3,000
  • Oolong tea ₩3,000

Maybe because I'd had noodles and bread for lunch, I was craving rice...? So after going back and forth between okonomiyaki and fried rice, I decided on the shio fried rice!

Plate of donpei-yaki, the first dish served

Donpei-yaki, 9,000 won: Japanese pork belly folded into egg

The first dish to arrive was donpei-yaki. Donpei-yaki is a Japanese-style pork belly rolled omelette — thin pork belly is rolled inside the egg, topped with mayonnaise and teriyaki sauce.

The egg was soft and the sauce on top was salty in the best way — keep reaching for more! We weren't drinking, so we had oolong tea and cola with it, and it paired well and tasted great?

Shio fried rice at Jojo: Osaka style, with big shrimp and squid

Next up was the shio fried rice. This is supposedly Osaka-style fried rice? Inside were shrimp, squid, and cabbage, with a soft-fried egg on top! Does the owner really know their stuff...

The shrimp weren't tiny ones but big, meaty ones — great bite! The squid pieces were also big, weren't they? The seasoning was just right so it went down easily.

Jojo yakisoba, 14,000 won

Jojo yakisoba! The karai soba (spicy soba) also seemed really popular. I'm going to try the karai soba next time!

Jojo yakisoba with meat mixed in

Jojo's yakisoba had meat in it too, so it had more of a bite and felt filling and satisfying to eat!

Pickled ginger served alongside yakisoba

I really liked this pickled ginger... whenever it started feeling a bit rich, a bite of this felt like starting fresh again.

Is Jojo in Songdo worth a dinner visit?

I'd been craving yakisoba for a while, and I got to eat my fill at Jojo Triple Street Branch!! :) If you're looking for a restaurant in Songdo Triple Street, Incheon, I recommend Jojo Triple Street Branch, where you can enjoy teppan dishes as good as the real thing in Japan.
