Suwon restaurant with mushroom soup and baguette: Nonchalant Lounge

I was looking for a nice-atmosphere Western restaurant in Haenggung-dong and ended up at Nonchalant Lounge!

With a menu ranging from pasta to risotto to pizza, plus stylish interior, this is a place I'd recommend for a Haenggung-dong date spot.

Where is Nonchalant Lounge, and what are its hours?

• ⏰ Hours: Tue–Sun 11:00–22:00 (weekday break 15:00–17:00)
• ❌ Closed: Mondays
• 🚘 Parking: Jangan-dong or Hwahongmun public parking lots (2 hours free on weekdays)

Parking in Haenggung-dong: where to leave the car for Nonchalant Lounge

For Nonchalant Lounge, you can use the nearby Jangan-dong public parking lot or the Hwahongmun public parking lot. The most important thing when visiting Haenggung-dong is always ⭐️parking info⭐️!!

On weekdays especially, using the public parking lots gets you 2 hours of free parking — worth noting!

I arrived around 11:30am on a Sunday and waited about 15 minutes before getting a spot at the Jangan-dong public lot. Since it's a public lot, the first 60 minutes are free, and after that it's charged in reasonable 10-minute increments••

Inside Nonchalant Lounge: atmosphere and seating

There are so many good-looking, tasty restaurants in Haenggung-dong, but I was craving Western food for the first time in a while, so I went looking and found Nonchalant Lounge!

The moment I walked in, what caught my eye was the stylish interior and atmosphere•• way nicer than what the exterior led me to expect

On top of that, the space itself is large with decent gaps between tables, so it never felt cramped. It really lives up to the word 'lounge' and seemed great for group gatherings or year-end parties too!

The windows are large at both the front and back of the building, so on a nice day it would be an even more pleasant place to eat.

What we ordered at Nonchalant Lounge and how it tasted

📌 Today's order was!

• ✔️ Mushroom soup and baguette
• ✔️ Bisque rosé pasta

• ✔️ Added garlic butter rice

Mushroom soup with baguette

First up was the mushroom soup and baguette. It was much thicker than the runny soup I expected,, but dipping the baguette into it turned out to be an unusual yet surprisingly good combination!

Bisque rosé pasta with garlic butter rice

Next was the bisque rosé pasta and garlic butter rice! The pasta was cooked to just the right doneness(?), a nice thick rosé sauce, and the shrimp were plump and huge — delicious.

The garlic butter rice was an extra I ordered just out of curiosity, but with crunchy garlic flakes on top, it was tasty enough to eat on its own•• honestly kept going back for more.

Crispy thin pizza

The crispy thin pizza lived up to its name with a thin, crunchy crust. It pairs great with both draft beer and coffee, and it's loaded generously with fresh arugula so it tastes even better 🥬

Truffle bulgogi risotto

The last dish was the truffle bulgogi risotto. The savory, creamy risotto combined with bulgogi felt familiar, but the truffle and perilla leaf!!! aroma gave it a bit of a twist. The sauce was thick and rich — personally my favorite dish of the day.

Would I go back to Nonchalant Lounge? Final verdict

The atmosphere, the kind owner, and the varied menu all left a great impression, so I already thought about coming back! Especially given the atmosphere, if you're looking for a Haenggung-dong date spot or a Suwon Haenggung-dong restaurant to visit with friends, this one is worth checking out.
