Tablet-order bone soup lunch in Suwon Ingye-dong: Eolkeunhan Ppyeo

Where is Eolkeunhan Ppyeo Haejangguk in Ingye-dong, Suwon?

I had to grab a quick lunch inside the Ingye-dong box, so I stopped by Eolkeunhan Ppyeo Haejangguk Suwon Ingye Branch. I didn't have much time — I needed to wolf down lunch in Ingye-dong and rush to an appointment — and the location was really convenient. I figured this would also be great for finishing off a night of drinking in the Ingye-dong box with a spicy bowl of haejangguk (hangover soup) before heading home, or just for a solo Korean meal in Ingye-dong.

Address: 1034-3 Ingye-dong, Paldal-gu, Suwon-si, Gyeonggi-do

Hours: Open until 9am Tuesday, then reopens 10am Wednesday!! Otherwise open 24 hours!!

Other: group seating available, takeout, delivery, reservations, wifi, separate men's/women's restrooms, high chairs, no-kids-zone, parking available with 2 hours free in the building's basement lot, pets allowed

The storefront visual alone — anyone who loves a spicy broth won't be able to walk past it.

The inside was spotless, with lots of tables. It's on the more spacious side compared to other pork bone soup places in Ingye-dong! Looks great for a solo meal in Ingye-dong too.

Pork broth, four spice levels and same-day-only cooking

Eolkeunhan Ppyeo Haejangguk uses pork broth simmered for 24 hours, and you can pick the spice level up to 4 stages for a spicier broth. It's also loaded with plenty of domestic ugeoji (dried napa cabbage), clearly making the case for a hearty solo Korean meal in Ingye-dong.

They said the bones are boiled fresh every day, following a same-day-use-only policy. True to that 24-hour Ingye-dong restaurant vibe, using them up daily felt very trustworthy!

I also checked out the country-of-origin sign.

Every menu item is available for takeout too. If you live near Ingye-dong, takeout might be even better than delivery. Great for a solo Ingye-dong meal to go, too.

There's a big menu board on the wall, and each table also has its own kiosk tablet.

We ordered via the tablet, and true to being a dedicated pork bone soup spot in Suwon's Ingye-dong, the only real options are bone soup or the big bone hot pot...! I went with the regular bone soup, and my friend ordered the mild version.

Once you order, they bring out pickled onions and diced radish kimchi.

If that's not enough, you can grab more side dishes from the self-serve corner. The self-serve corner was clean and tidy.

Mild vs regular-spicy bone soup: how the broth differs

This is the mild bone soup — the mild version has zero spiciness, totally mellow. I tasted both broths, and personally, unless you're feeding little kids, I'd recommend the regular or spicy version — it's not greasy and has a nice kick!

The regular flavor is the classic spicy Ingye-dong bone soup taste. If you want it even spicier than the usual bone soup flavor, the spicy option sounds good. Since this is Eolkeunhan ("spicy") Ppyeo Haejangguk, I'll have to try the spicy version next time!

Three bones too big for the pot

The bones were so huge they barely fit in the pot. I thought there were just two big ones, but as I kept eating, I found another big bone underneath — three big bones total!!

Once I picked all the meat off, the portion was really generous. Total value confirmed for a budget-friendly solo restaurant in Suwon's Ingye-dong... tender meat picked off,

and one spoonful of the broth cured me like a real hangover cure in Ingye-dong, even though I hadn't been drinking the night before.

Free ice cream after the meal

On top of everything, finishing your bowl gets you 1 free ice cream per order — this place would be perfect for coming here to sober up after drinking in the Ingye-dong box. A hangover soup restaurant in Ingye-dong that even nails the dessert.

We each grabbed a melona bar and ate away with full, happy bellies~ Next time I've got to try the spicy version too.
