Hand-patty burgers at Dufftown, a Jeonpo burger spot in Busan

In short

Dufftown is a hip hand-patty burger restaurant in Jeonpo, Busan. On a first visit, the owner recommended the Dufftown & Dancing Burger and the Patty Melt, split in half between two people, and the runny-yolk Dancing Burger won out. The thick patty has real beefy flavor, making this a solid date-course stop in Jeonpo.

There's a place in Jeonpo I'd had bookmarked for ages, wanting to check it out — and this time I happened to be in the neighborhood with just enough time, so I finally went haha. Dufftown! I'd had it saved on the map forever thinking 'I'll go sometime~' and this day I finally made it happen lol.

Jeonpo vibes from the outside: first impressions of Dufftown

But this place... the exterior is just completely hip lol. Even the burger photo shots on the outside had a whole vibe to them lol. The burger picture stuck up on the front of the shop looked so mouthwatering I was hungry before I even walked in lol.

Dufftown in Jeonpo — the exterior just had something going on from the start. You know that hip, vintage energy Jeonpo has these days? This had it in full lol. So even before going in I was already thinking 'oh, this place is gonna photograph well' lol.

Inside: wood tones with cute little touches

Walking in, it's an orange-tinted wood-tone space with cute little props and posters on the walls, overall a hip-yet-cute feel. Totally my style lol. I thought it'd be a good spot to bring a date, and also a nice place to come eat burgers with friends.

The self-serve bar has all kinds of sauces plus disposable gloves ready to use. I only noticed the gloves after I'd already finished eating lol ㅠㅠ.

What to order on a first visit? Two signature burgers

There's even a signed autograph from chef Lee Won-il on the wall lol. Looking at the menu, there were more burger varieties than I expected. I wanted to try them all lol, but since it was our first visit, we went with two signature items. What we ordered was

Patty Melt ₩11,000 Dufftown & Dancing Burger ₩10,100

That's it! Both felt like the restaurant's signature items, so we debated which to try first and just decided to get both lol. The owner recommended these two, saying they each have a different character haha.

Next to the table there's a comic showing how to eat a burger properly — apparently if you flip the burger upside down you can eat it neatly! But since there were two of us, we just cut it with a knife and split it in half haha.

There was even a Lego calendar that my eldest would probably love. Lots of cute little touches at Dufftown.

The visuals are insane from the start

Wow... the second the food arrived, the visuals were insane lol. Especially the Dufftown & Dancing Burger, which has an egg right on top — you can see the yolk bursting and running down, right...?? Lol.

You really can't just dig into a burger like this without taking a photo first. So I snapped away enthusiastically first 🤣. Plus there's a generous amount of cheese and a thick patty, so just looking at it you think 'this better be good, or it'd be a crime' lol.

How does the Dufftown & Dancing Burger taste?

This is Dufftown's signature burger with a combo of egg yolk + cheese + thick patty. One bite in and, wow, so good lol — the reaction is immediate. The egg yolk bursts and mixes with the cheese and beef patty and... wow, this is basically a classic cheeseburger with an egg added properly on top lol.

Above all, the patty was so good. Thick, with real beefy flavor coming through, and it gets nuttier the more you chew, so you can't help but say 'ah, this patty is good' while eating lol. My husband took one bite and said 'haven't had a good hand-patty burger in a while,' then just inhaled it lol. No words needed. We finished it in no time 🤣.

The Patty Melt feels more like a sandwich

Second up, the Patty Melt! This is a bit different from what we usually think of as a burger. It has sweetly caramelized onions, cheese, and a thick beef patty — and just looking at it, it leans more sandwich than burger. So at first I thought, 'oh? this is a bit different' lol.

The sandwich-like Patty Melt

One bite in, the sweetness of the caramelized onions, the richness of the cheese, and the beefy flavor of the patty all come through together, and this was pretty tasty too. Though as I kept eating, it did get a bit rich/greasy. But then lol, mid-bite I suddenly thought, 'ah, that's why they give you pickles' lol.

Pickles served alongside the burgers

Popping a pickle here and there completely cuts through the richness, so you can go in for another bite lol. Highly recommend the Patty Melt + pickle combo lol.

Looking for a hand-patty burger spot in Busan?

Overall, Dufftown isn't just a place to eat burgers — between the vibe of the space and the visual appeal of the menu, it has that distinctly hip Jeonpo energy, which I loved. It's a great stop if you're wandering around Jeonpo and want something good to eat, and the atmosphere is nice enough that it could work as a date spot too. And most importantly, the most basic thing about a burger — the patty — was delicious, so I left satisfied! At the end of the day, the patty is the most important part of a hand-patty burger!

Final verdict

I tried both the Dufftown & Dancing Burger and the Patty Melt, and personally the Dufftown & Dancing Burger was more my taste! If you're looking for a good-vibe spot in Jeonpo and want a tasty burger too, Dufftown — a hand-patty burger spot in Busan — is worth checking out. I'd had it bookmarked for a while and finally made it happen this time, so I'm satisfied lol. Next time I'll have to try the other burgers too. I'd definitely go back whenever I'm in Jeonpo! Let's go eat something good in Jeonpo again lol.

Hand-patty burger spot, decided: you.
