Bright, warm-toned interior of Gyuen Dang Seolleung Branch

Walking inside, I was greeted by a bright, warm-toned, clean modern interior.

Large Japanese calligraphy on the wall gives it the feel of a real restaurant in Tokyo (‾◡◝)

Tables for 2 up to 4 people have generous spacing, so it was really nice to eat without worrying about the people next to you~

There's also a separate window bar perfect for eating alone! During the busy lunch hour, Seolleung office workers came in and it looked like an easy, no-pressure spot to grill meat solo :)

Sirloin gyukatsu 19.0: how to grill it medium-rare on the mini brazier

Sirloin gyukatsu set with rice, soup, and salad

Sirloin gyukatsu 19.0. Aaah... isn't the look of this sirloin gyukatsu just amazing? It comes with rice, soup, salad, and an assortment of sauces and side dishes!

They prepare the sirloin at its tastiest point — 'medium-rare' :)

Sirloin gyukatsu being grilled on the mini brazier

I cooked it just a bit more to lock in the juices, then took the first bite — the juices burst in my mouth and it just melted away.. seriously so good!!!

Best combinations: salt, wasabi and cabbage salad

Once it's lightly grilled, you can pair it many different ways. Personally my favorite combos are 😉❤️ just a light dip in salt to taste the meat's natural flavor, or a generous load of pungent wasabi eaten with rice~

Or toss the cabbage salad in sauce and eat it alongside, refreshing your palate every so often.

Every so often, add in the red-seasoned pickled radish side dish.

It cuts through the richness completely, and o((>ω< ))o you can enjoy every last bite. That's my little tip.

Oh! And of course! Pair it with a cold draft beer and all your work-week lunch stress will vanish haha🤗🤗

Verdict: Gyuen Dang Seolleung Branch for solo meals and dates

Whether you're eating solo around Seolleung Station or planning a date or small gathering, this is a place I can confidently recommend to everyone. Come meet the juiciest gyukatsu of your life at Gyuen Dang Seolleung (o゚v゚)ノ
