Seolleung Station lunch: Isigny butter gyukatsu at Gyuen Dang
In short
Gyuen Dang Seolleung Branch is a Japanese restaurant that opened on September 5, 2025, on the second floor of a building a five-minute walk from Seolleung Station in Gangnam, Seoul. Over lunch with a friend, Gyuen Dang's sirloin gyukatsu (breaded beef cutlet) came to 19,000 won and the brie cheese omurice to 23,000 won, both grilled at the table on a personal brazier with Isigny butter melted over the meat, and the house dipping sauce was the best part. Thanks to ceiling ventilation and wide gaps between tables, Gyuen Dang Seolleung Branch works just as well for an office lunch as for eating alone.

I met a friend who works near Seolleung Station and we agonized over where to have lunch haha! Turns out a brand-new spot had just opened on September 5th, so we went to check it out! This feels perfect for anyone looking for a lunch place near Seolleung Station, so let me introduce it right away ㅎ_ㅎ
Gyuen Dang Seolleung Branch hours and how to get there
Gyuen Dang Seolleung Branch (규엔당 선릉점) is a Japanese restaurant on the 2nd floor of a building at 26 Seolleung-ro 86-gil, Gangnam-gu, Seoul. Hours are 11:00–21:30, with a break time from 15:00–17:00. They have baby chairs available and a pleasant ventilation system.
It's exactly a 5-minute walk from Seolleung Station, so accessibility was great! It's on the 2nd floor of the building, so you'll see it right after climbing the stairs ㅎ_ㅎ

There's a best menu banner next to the entrance, so what should we order~~~~!

Inside Gyuen Dang Seolleung Branch: is it comfortable for solo diners?
Inside, Gyuen Dang Seolleung Branch was clean and pleasant, as you'd expect from a spot that just opened in September, and the tables had plenty of spacing. It looked totally fine for solo lunch dining at this Seolleung Station restaurant!

At gyukatsu places you sometimes worry about the smell or smoke from grilling meat, right?! But here there's a neat ceiling ventilation system installed, so it was pure comfort!
Gyuen Dang menu and prices, plus the review event perk

Looking over the menu, gyukatsu and omurice were clearly the signature best menu items here! We didn't hesitate and ordered both signature dishes!
- Sirloin gyukatsu: ₩19,000
- Brie cheese omurice: ₩23,000

They said if you participate in the review event, you get a mini okonomiyaki on the house! You know you have to join in and grab that~~~!

On the table there were instructions for how to eat the gyukatsu and the brie cheese omurice. ㅎ_ㅎ I read them carefully to prepare for the best possible eating experience.
Sirloin gyukatsu, 19,000 won: grilling it with Isigny butter on a personal brazier
Gyuen Dang Seolleung Branch's sirloin gyukatsu is ₩19,000, and it's a style where you put solid fuel into a personal brazier, heat up the plate, and grill it yourself. The sirloin gyukatsu arrived~~~! Put the solid fuel into the cute little personal brazier and heat up the plate.

It came out as a tidy, neatly arranged single-person set, and I thought it'd be perfect for a Gangnam office worker's meal. It's made up of cabbage salad, radish, miso soup, rice, wasabi, salt, and sauce.

The moment the gyukatsu arrived, I was genuinely amazed looking at the cross-section of the meat...

Look at that marbling in the cross-section, everyone ㅠㅠ The balance of lean meat and fat is insane

The combination of crispy breading and that bright red meat, only lightly seared on the surface...

They give you Isigny butter as standard, and when you melt it on the hot plate and grill the meat in it, the flavor absolutely explodes

You can dip it in wasabi, salt, or the special house sauce — so many options!

My personal favorite was the sweet-salty special sauce! Dipping it in that sauce was the tastiest way to eat it! My friend also said the sauce dip was the best~~~! The breading is crispy but the inside is tender and soft, so every bite bursts with juice!
Brie cheese omurice, 23,000 won: melted brie over soft egg
The brie cheese omurice is ₩23,000 — a whole chunk of brie cheese sits on top of egg omurice, topped off with demi-glace sauce.

The brie cheese omurice grabbed all the attention visually! There was a whole, thick chunk of brie cheese sitting on top of the egg omurice

You could tell how perfectly the egg was cooked — when you slice just the surface with a knife, a fluffy, moist, soft egg blanket gently unfolds ㅠㅠ

As warm steam rises, the brie cheese on top starts melting too — total art! They pour the savory demi-glace sauce evenly over the top~~~

Egg blanket + sauce — how could this combination not be delicious!

I love cheese so much that just looking at it made my mouth water ㅠ_ㅠ

With soft egg + rich, gooey melted cheese + savory demi-glace sauce + fried rice all in one big spoonful... it's seriously insanely good!!

The cheese was piled on so generously that I could enjoy it right to the very end without any regrets!
