Gijang café with free parking and annex window seats: Deokmi

Such perfect weather for a drive! After lunch we stopped by Café Deokmi.

Parking at Deokmi Gijang Branch: how close is Haedong Yonggungsa?

The empty lot right in front of the café is the parking area. It's free, so park comfortably. You can even see Ananti from there! It's also super close to Haedong Yonggungsa.

There's the sea right in front, so you get a cool ocean view too~ The sparkling sunlight on the water was so pretty, ㅠㅠ

Main hall or annex: where do you order at Deokmi?

Café Deokmi in Gijang is split into a main hall and an annex. This here is the annex.

And this is the main hall! The counter is in the main hall, so if you're heading to the annex, order first and then move over.

Even on a weekday, Deokmi is definitely a hot spot~ The annex window seats were completely full, so we settled into the main hall.

The vibe inside is so nice haha. Let's start by ordering at the counter.

There's a wide variety of drinks — coffee, ade, lattes, milk tea, and more — and you can switch beans to nutty or decaf!

Deokmi is a cake spot too, you know — I barely held myself back from ordering everything, ㅠㅠ We picked the seasonal Fig Earl Grey Tiramisu and the classic Oreo Cheesecake!

Do the window seats have power outlets?

There's a big window with an ocean view, and competition for those window seats is fierce haha. There are outlets too, so you can charge your devices — I'd love to work on my laptop here looking at the ocean view...

The sparkling water was so pretty I had to capture it — that's Haedong Yonggungsa you can see there! It was so cool that it's directly in view, haha.

Ordered a hearty spread for the two of us!

We ordered the signature drink thinking 'let's try it!' — wow, you have to drink this. Mildly sweet with a subtle saltiness, I almost buried my face in the cup... the flavor is so refined.

I asked for the Americano to be made light, and they thoughtfully gave us an extra shot on the side haha. The mango ade is refreshing and sweet too.

Deokmi's cakes need no introduction! Oreo cheesecake has always been my favorite, and I was so curious about the seasonal fig dessert.

It's piled with fresh figs and dried figs on top — how could that not be delicious~~

Can't skip the cross-section shot! A moist sponge layered with fig compote and Earl Grey cream.

Scoop it up with a spoon and you're instantly happy... why do Earl Grey and fig go so well together? If you like fig desserts, this is a total must-try!!

Deokmi's Oreo cheesecake is the classic of all classics. Properly rich and dense!

With crushed cookie crumbs on top and bottom, it's so much better than a plain cheesecake, ㅠㅠ Have it with an iced Americano and you're in heaven...
