Looking further inside the café, various props catch your eye — old magazines and books, small dolls, vintage decorations, vases, and lighting placed here and there, so there's fun just in looking around.

Hippy also has an outdoor space in addition to the indoor seating. Wooden fences, a brick floor, and wood tables and chairs come together for a mood quite different from indoors. On days when it's not too hot or too cold, enjoying coffee and dessert outside would be really nice. Personally, I think visiting in cooler weather and having cream pie and coffee at the outdoor seats would let you enjoy Hippy's atmosphere even more.

What I ordered this time was basil tomato cream pie, Mont Blanc chestnut cream pie, and an iced Americano.

Maybe because I love basil, the basil tomato cream pie was really satisfying. The subtle basil fragrance combined with the fresh tang of tomato made it feel different from your usual dessert.

The Mont Blanc chestnut cream pie was easy to enjoy if you like soft, nutty chestnut flavor. Anyone who's found chestnut desserts too dry or too sweet before might want to give this one a try. Personally, I loved it paired with coffee especially.

The iced Americano I ordered alongside wasn't too acidic — just the right balance. Hippy's coffee is hand-drip, apparently, and it went down easily with dessert without feeling heavy.

Hippy is a café where the atmosphere of the space itself and the character of its desserts come together really well. Taking in the warm wood tones, vintage props, and soft lighting one by one made the time spent there feel a little more relaxed.

The basil tomato cream pie and Mont Blanc chestnut cream pie I had this time stood out to me in particular. If you like basil, I'd recommend the basil tomato cream pie; if you like nutty, soft chestnut desserts, go for the Mont Blanc chestnut cream pie.
