The menu

I really love a story like this haha, they use Sindongjin rice!

They even note the milling date, which shows a really nice level of care.

What we ordered

  • Kanto-style sukiyaki for two: ₩31,900
  • Herb-aged salmon sashimi: ₩13,900

Kanto-style sukiyaki for two (₩31,900)

The pot comes out covered in a full layer of thinly sliced beef, with napa cabbage, bok choy, enoki mushrooms, shiitake mushrooms, green onion, and silk konjac noodles packed underneath!

Once the burner's on and the shallow soy broth starts bubbling, sweetness draws out from the vegetables and the broth flavor keeps deepening... ㅠㅠ

Pulling out the well-cooked, tender beef with chopsticks and dipping it fully into the well-beaten raw egg — the savory egg rounds out the salty-sweet broth flavor so well it's a genuinely amazing pairing!

The silk konjac soaked in sukiyaki broth and the well-cooked napa cabbage were especially delicious, so I kept eating them haha. The rice served with it was glossy and had nice chew, so I kept topping it with a piece of meat, dipping it in the broth, and eating more haha.

Herb-aged salmon sashimi (₩13,900)

I ordered the herb-aged salmon sashimi as a side to enjoy alongside the sukiyaki!

Cleanly aged with herbs, there was zero fishy smell, and the salmon's characteristic savory, rich flavor and moist, tender texture were so delicious.

Picking up a piece of salmon sashimi with chopsticks

Taking a hot, salty bite of sukiyaki and then a piece of cold salmon sashimi refreshed the palate, and the menu combination was really great haha.

Naver review event service (1 shrimp tempura & 1 kimmari)

If you're visiting, make sure to join the Naver review event! We got one freshly fried, crispy shrimp tempura and one kimmari (fried seaweed roll) as a free service, and they made a perfect side.

Overall thoughts

For a reasonable ₩31,900 for two servings, it was great to enjoy a generous spread of beef, vegetables, raw egg, and neatly prepared rice. Rather than a flashy or intense flavor, it has a tidy, home-cooked feel full of care, making it a comfortable place to eat slowly without pressure.

If you're near Hanam Misa craving a warm, deep pot of sukiyaki or Japanese home cooking, I highly recommend 'Roi Sikdang Hanam Misa Main Branch'!
