Hesitant about bringing the kids

I was trying to figure out what to eat in Hanam, and since it looked good value and I'd been craving something spicy, I went to Jigueseo On Jjukkumi Hanam Branch :) I wanted spicy jjukkumi, but I hesitated because I had to bring the kids along.

But this place serves a whole spread of side dishes — stone-pot rice, japchae (glass noodle stir-fry), seaweed soup — and there's even gorgonzola pizza on the menu, so it seemed like it'd work well for eating with kids, and that's why I decided to go!

Oh, and there's no break time either, so it was nice to eat at a leisurely pace~~! We went a bit after lunchtime, and there were a lot of older guests too — with no break time, everyone seemed to be enjoying their meal slowly while chatting~~!!

It's a bit tucked away inside, but after eating there, it's a place I'd want to visit again~~!

There's a photo zone too, and it looks like they make their own perilla oil since they sell it separately!!

What we ordered and the side dish spread

What we ordered was the Bangatgan (방앗간, "mill house") perilla-oil jjukkumi set for two + gorgonzola pizza. For the adults I wanted to order seafood pancake, but since there wouldn't be enough for the kids to eat, I got the gorgonzola instead~~!!

The side dishes came out pretty impressively first! There was japchae and seaweed soup too, which was great for eating with the kids, and overall the spread felt like more than enough for a full meal. Having salted pollock roe and salad on top of that made it even better~~!

And when the main dish, the jjukkumi, came out, I was surprised at how much bigger it was than I expected. When I first saw it, I thought it might be nakji (larger octopus) haha, it was that chunky. Once I tried it, the texture was really firm and chewy and delicious! Mixing it with their homemade perilla oil made it even better~~!!😆

The jjukkumi wasn't super spicy — just slightly spicy, maybe? Since the jjukkumi pieces were so substantial, I gave the kids a bite each, and they ate it better than I expected haha. The firm, chewy texture seemed to interest them, so they kept trying to eat more, which was cute.

Stone-pot rice can be added for ₩2,000

The stone-pot rice that came with it was also satisfying. Beyond the basic serving, you can order extra stone-pot rice for ₩2,000, which is affordable, and it had ingredients mixed in, which was nice.

Gorgonzola pizza, right up the kids' alley

And then the gorgonzola came out~~!! The gorgonzola pizza we ordered for the kids wasn't so much an outstanding flavor as it was exactly the style kids would like. It paired surprisingly well with the jjukkumi set, and since it seemed to be right up the kids' alley, they ate almost all of it 😂

And at the entrance, there was even Hangang ramyeon (Han River instant noodles)~~! You can eat it for free if you write a receipt review~~!!

After finishing our meal, we were also able to grab dessert — ice cream and coffee at the entrance of the restaurant! With kids in tow, it's always better when there's something for them too~~!

There were also a lot of staff around, and they were friendly, so overall we had a comfortable meal.

A place where we visited with the kids, ate spicy jjukkumi, and filled up on stone-pot rice and pizza! Next time, I think it'd be great to bring my parents along too. If you're looking for a family restaurant in Hanam, this seems worth a visit 😊
