Margherita pizza and ragu pasta with a kid, Hanam Misa terrace
In short
The Pizzeria Market Hanam Misa is a wood-fired pizza restaurant on the Misa riverside in Hanam, Gyeonggi. On an early weekday evening, the writer took her child for margherita pizza, ragu pasta and two drinks, starting indoors before moving to the outdoor terrace once the weather turned pleasant. With no spicy items on the menu, plus kids' tableware, a high chair, and pet-friendly seating, it was an easy place to eat out with a child.

On a day I got off work a little early, I finally got to have a nice dinner with my kid. Eating out with a child usually narrows down the menu options quite a bit, but pizza is one of those safe bets — kids love it and adults can enjoy it too. I'd heard about a place in Hanam known for handmade pizza, so I went to check it out. This time I visited The Pizzeria Market Hanam Misa, located in Misa.

The green-awning exterior and outdoor terrace
The long green awning stretching across the exterior caught my eye right away. Wood tables and green chairs out front gave it a bit of an overseas feel too, haha. It wasn't hot that day, just pleasantly cool, so there were plenty of guests enjoying pizza and drinks out on the terrace.

Inside, white brick walls, wood-tone tables and round chairs come together for a comfortable feel. Instead of anything flashy or overdecorated, it has the natural, casual air of a pizza place you'd find in the US or Europe. And through a long window you can see the kitchen at work.

Tablet ordering, picking a menu for a kid
You order using the tablet at the table. Besides pizza and pasta, there were more options than I expected — salads, pizza boats, sides. I was curious about the other pizzas, but since I was with my kid, who can't handle even a little spice, I went with the most familiar, foolproof options.
We ordered margherita pizza, ragu pasta, and two drinks that day.

Handmade pizza, dough stretched by hand
While waiting after ordering, I could see the kitchen cooking from where I sat. Later, stepping outside and looking through the window, I could see a staff member stretching the dough by hand to make the pizza base. Knowing they don't use factory dough but make it fresh after each order made me even more excited. They blend Italian flour with organic whole wheat, then use a naturally fermented sourdough aged at low temperature for 48 hours.

A spot that worked well for both kid and dog
We'd made a reservation in advance, and our table was set up indoors, so we sat inside first, then moved outside once the weather turned out to be too nice to pass up. By the way, The Pizzeria Market is a pet-friendly restaurant. There was actually a guest there with a dog, and the restaurant even had a dog stroller on hand. With the outdoor terrace, it looked like a great spot to dine with a dog on nice-weather days. It's worth checking with the restaurant beforehand about what's required for bringing a pet indoors. When we visited, there were both a family with a baby and a guest with a dog, and the overall atmosphere felt relaxed and comfortable.

Since we had a child, they gave us separate kids' tableware and a cup (there's also a high chair available indoors). And on one side of the interior there's a self-service corner with pickles, jalapeños, scissors, tongs, small plates and utensils, so you can help yourself to whatever you need.

How the ragu pasta tasted
The ragu pasta came out first. The plating alone was gorgeous, with plenty of cheese and basil piled on top — it looked incredibly delicious. I'd worried it might be a bit spicy since my kid would be eating it too, but it wasn't spicy at all. The rich tomato sauce combined with the meat flavor, and it paired really well with the pizza too.

How was the margherita pizza dough?
A little later, the star of the show — the margherita pizza — arrived. It's a basic pizza with tomato sauce, cheese and basil, but the crust was puffed up nice and thick, giving it that unmistakable handmade, wood-fired feel. The outside of the crust was crispy while the inside was just chewy enough, and the tomato sauce and cheese combination worked really well together. My kid was even eating just the crust ends afterward — the dough was that good. It wasn't overly salty or heavy, just kept making you want another bite. If the basic pizza is this good, the other pizzas must be even better — I'll have to try more next time!

The pizza was delicious, but the pasta exceeded expectations too, so I was satisfied with both dishes. I'd picked familiar menu items specifically to eat with my kid, and it turned out to be the right call.

While we were eating, I noticed delivery motorbikes kept pulling in. The dining room was still fairly quiet at that hour, but delivery orders never seemed to let up.

Autumn terrace atmosphere
The weather was so nice, and eating on the outdoor terrace with that autumn feel in the air made me feel like I was briefly on a trip somewhere. It seems like it'd be lovely to enjoy pizza with beer or wine here in the evening, too. This is a great spot for anyone looking for a restaurant with a good atmosphere in Hanam.

Restroom
The restroom is outside the restaurant — you enter a passcode to use it. Men's and women's restrooms are separate, and overall it was quite clean and tidy.
Wrap-up
The Pizzeria Market delivered on both the handmade-dough pizza and the ragu pasta — both were satisfying. Beyond the flavors, I also loved the exotic exterior and the outdoor terrace atmosphere. It was easy to dine here with a child, and pets are welcome too, so it seems like a good spot for family meals, dates, or casual gatherings. If you want to enjoy good handmade pizza outdoors on a nice day, it's worth a visit. I've found another restaurant in Hanam I'd love to come back to.
