Korean restaurant near closing time, borigulbi added for two: Gim

In short

Gim Myeongju Tteuranchae Bapsang Bucheon Main Branch is a spacious Korean restaurant known for hanjeongsik (Korean set meal) near Jakdong and Gachiul in Bucheon, Gyeonggi. The reviewer ordered the Tteuranchae Bapsang set for two plus a side order of borigulbi (dried and seasoned yellow corvina), rolled it into green tea rice, and finished with nurungji (scorched rice) tea from the pot rice, while the self-bar banchan — even the cheonggukjang (fermented soybean stew) — was all refillable. Even walking in near last order, the staff was kind and the huge parking lot made it easy for a family gathering or group dinner.

I've been eating a lot of greasy food lately, so today I was craving a clean hanjeongsik (Korean set meal)! Sort of for self-management purposes! To eat something good for the body!! Hehe

Today's spot is — drumroll — Gim Myeongju Tteuranchae Bapsang Bucheon Main Branch, famous for hanjeongsik in Jakdong, Wonmi-gu, Bucheon! The exterior alone was so massive that my expectations shot right up!! So before we go zooming inside today—

Wide parking lot in front of the restaurant building

Where do you park?

The biggest perk of Gim Myeongju Tteuranchae Bapsang!! There's a parking lot right in front of the building!! I think it was the widest parking space of any place I've visited! Nice haha. So shall we actually zoom in now? Hehe

Interior seating and atmosphere

It wasn't just the exterior that was grand — the inside was really spacious with tons of seating! Seems great for family gatherings or group dinners!!

A good combo to order for two

The menu is very simple! Tip: for two people, I recommend ordering the Tteuranchae Bapsang for 2 plus one à la carte item instead of the individual set meals (this is the cost-effective move!!!). So I ordered the Tteuranchae Bapsang for 2 plus 'borigulbi' 😎

Self-bar refills and japchae

While waiting for the food, I checked out the self-bar and everything was refillable!! Only japchae (stir-fried glass noodles) wasn't on the self-bar, and I wondered why — turns out they serve it warm separately if you ask!! Such thoughtfulness... really touched me haha. As expected of a family-friendly place, baby chairs were also ready!

The full spread and pot rice

Finally, finally!! The food arrived!! Can you see how neat and tidy each side dish is?! Doesn't taste like it's missing home cooking at all!! (Sorry, Mom)

Pot rice, you guys!! Pot rice!!! You all know that nurungji (scorched rice tea) is incredible, right?! And you know you have to get the water ratio just right, right?! Haha

How do you eat borigulbi?

I personally like fish grilled crispy, and this borigulbi (dried and seasoned yellow corvina) had no fishy smell and was grilled just right for my taste!!

How to eat borigulbi!! Honestly, you just roll it into rice mixed with green tea and eat it together haha. This is a real delicacy, a delicacy haha.

Rice mixed with green tea alongside borigulbi

Mixing warm rice with green tea and placing a piece of gulbi on top made me really happy!!!!

A piece of borigulbi placed on top of green tea rice

Can't eat it with green tea rice the whole time~~~ there was lettuce too, so I wrapped the gulbi right up haha.

After finishing everything up deliciously, I immediately drank the nurungji tea haha. I really wanted to have one of these pots at home >_<

Cleared it again today!! There were so many side dishes I couldn't finish them all ㅠ_ㅠ

Side dishes and snacks sold separately

On my way out to pay, I noticed they sell side dishes and snacks separately! The garlic scapes looked so good I wanted to buy some, but I held back haha.

Final thoughts

Places that serve a lot of side dishes can often drop in quality, but here every single one was delicious... Even though I went right around last order time... the staff were genuinely kind!!✨ The parking lot is seriously unreal!! Amazing!! Every banchan is refillable, and I especially loved that even the 'cheonggukjang' (fermented soybean stew) gets refilled! I'd recommend everyone visit Gim Myeongju Tteuranchae Bapsang Bucheon Main Branch, a well-known spot in Bucheon's Jakdong and Gachiul area, at least once :-)
