No-wait weekday lunch with charcoal pork set meal: Gim Myeongju

I found a real hidden gem known for Bucheon Korean restaurant food today! A place you could take your parents to, where the self-bar was run so well I felt great the whole time until I left. It's easy to get to with convenient parking too since it's a Jakdong-area Korean restaurant, let me show you right away!!

Gim Myeongju Tteuranchae Bapsang Bucheon Main Branch has parking available. Parking was easy and there was staff guiding cars, so it was a really comfortable visit!

Since it was a rainy day... I really didn't want to get wet, but the staff guiding me was so thoughtful and made sure I didn't get rained on! So it's a great Bucheon Korean restaurant to bring your parents to comfortably.

So it seems like a great spot for family meals or dining out haha, or even for a date haha.

What was the wait like at 1pm on a weekday?

As a Bucheon restaurant it often has a wait, but I visited on a weekday! At 1pm on a weekday, I walked right in with no wait haha. Still, there were so many people, it was honestly surprising...

If you book ahead, you can enjoy the set meal even more comfortably, so if you're coming with family, I'd recommend reserving in advance haha. I went at 1pm on a weekday without a reservation and it worked out great haha.

The menu board

This is the menu board for the Tteuranchae set meals! There are à la carte dishes as well as set meals haha. Everything looked so neat and every menu item seemed great, and the value felt so good — this is a Bucheon Korean restaurant I definitely want to bring my parents to! I ordered the charcoal-grilled pork set meal!

Unlimited banchan at the self-bar

The self-bar was really well run. The banchan (side dishes) here are so delicious... and each one could be enjoyed unlimited. That made the value feel even better!

Especially... the fried eggplant... was seriously so good... Being able to enjoy the self-bar unlimited made the value feel even better!! Great for family visits too haha.

Charcoal-grilled pork set meal, ₩31,000 per person

A hearty spread with freshly made pot rice, cheonggukjang (fermented soybean stew), banchan, and grilled pork all together!! It's great to enjoy as a full Korean set meal alongside the grilled pork! Good for family visits too haha.

Wow... I want to eat it again ㅠㅠ Freshly made pot rice and cheonggukjang with that pungent aroma! And the neatly arranged banchan made only with seasonal ingredients! The side dishes were really delicious too.

First they scoop out the rice for you~ then finish by adding water for a nurungji (scorched rice tea) dessert haha. It's great to enjoy alongside it and makes for a tasty finish! Seriously so good.

Juicy charcoal-grilled pork

Charcoal-grilled pork! This was seriously more delicious than expected. Sometimes you get grilled pork that's really dry, but this was insanely juicy... and so tender!! The seasoning wasn't too strong either, which I loved!

It's domestic pork neck, and how is it this juicy... Marinated and grilled over charcoal, giving it a subtle smoky flavor that's so delicious!!

The banchan were also really excellent...

Insanely delicious. Feels like a great Bucheon Korean restaurant for a birthday too!
