Foreigners line up here too, so it's a solid K-food recommendation for dates or blind dates! And a strong recommendation for family outings with kids too. I took my middle-schooler, who loves Seongsu, out for a stroll and we had a delicious lunch.

What is Omil Seongsu? A rubber duck omurice restaurant by Exit 1 of Seongsu Station

Omil Seongsu (Oh! Meal) is a Japanese-Western fusion restaurant 541m from Exit 1 of Seongsu Station. It's open daily 11:30–21:15, and you get a free soda with a Naver review.

Greeting you with open arms is Omil Seongsu's little mascot, Oh! Meal. In Seoul's hotspot Seongsu, where waiting is basically the norm, this is a go-to date restaurant! The cute 🐥rubber duck omurice is the signature dish. It's not on the Yeonmujang-gil side, but rather near the Seongsu pork trotter and handmade shoe street — a slightly more relaxed commercial area that's been filling up with good restaurants and cafés lately.

*Parking is convenient since the Seongsu 2-ga 3-dong public parking lot is just a minute away.

The signature 🐥rubber duck omurice! At Christmas there's a Christmas 🐥rubber duck, in summer there's a summer vacation 🐥rubber duck — Omil is overflowing with cleverness. We come back often just to collect these 🐥rubber ducks, and even the waiting area is so pretty!

The waitlist machine at Omil is right on the wall next to the entrance! There's a machine where you enter your contact info and party size! I remember once thinking it was a regular line and waiting way longer than I needed to, so I'm leaving this info here! Make sure to register on the waitlist!

Inside Omil Seongsu: atmosphere, seating and a full house at lunch

The interior atmosphere is great as always! Omil is good whenever you visit. I noticed couples on dates, groups of female friends chatting away, and families with kids too.

Since it was lunchtime, the place was nearly full! Right after we got in, the waitlist started forming. There are lots of 2-person tables and only about 4 tables for 4 — if you're visiting in a group, you might have to wait a bit!

The sunlight pouring in through the floor-to-ceiling windows is lovely, and the cute little items around make this Seongsu casual restaurant a nice-atmosphere kind of place.

A lot of foreigners come here, and I noticed a new menu item — gochujang butter pasta! It's a K-butter pasta, probably with that delicious gochujang-flavored Korean taste!

You can help yourself to handmade pickles and water at the self-serve corner.

The menu is placed right on the table, and if you need to order, just ring the bell. Such a cute little touch from Omil!

The 2-person set menu made up of Omil's signature dishes is great value too — ₩48,700. It's a Western-style restaurant, but with soba maki and katsu dishes on offer, it has a bit of a fusion feel.

A must-try dish at Omil! It's not just katsu — it's sizzling, with a whole performance attached. It's so famous on social media that they even ask if you're ready before pouring the cream sauce, haha! You definitely need to film it! Haha!

They pour cream sauce over the round fried katsu, and the sauce soaks right in. The visual alone is impressive. Sizzling away — then straight into slicing it up.

Inside, it's packed with cheese and layers of tender meat, and when the cheese and cream sauce come together, it turns into a truly delicious katsu.

Extremely tender and savory too! The meat is genuinely soft and delicious. Since it's served on a hot plate, it stays warm for a long time, and it even feels like you're eating a full-on dish. This sizzling hot-plate katsu at Omil Seongsu lets you properly enjoy premium katsu — I recommend it.

This is, without question, Omil Seongsu's signature. Note that there's also a daily omurice without the cute duck figurine! The duck is the gift you take home!

Seven adorable baby ducks huddled together, nesting on a swirl of rolled egg. The dish is a win on visuals alone! It really might be the dish that captures all of Seongsu's hotness. A Seongsu hotspot, Omil Seongsu — it truly knows how to win people over!

Thanks to these cute ducks, lots of families come here with their kids. I've lost count of how many times I've brought my own kid. It's my kids' favorite restaurant! Omil Seongsu! Whoever came up with this dish deserves an award, haha.

The visuals are great, but it's also a genuinely delicious, nutrient-packed omurice topped with Omil's special sauce. Inside is a tasty fried rice with finely chopped vegetables and salmon. There's a hint of pepper too, so it's spicy-sweet. I had it with my kid, and it was basically inhaled! Seeing them eat so well made it even more satisfying. Yep — rubber duck omurice. Yep — Omil Seongsu.

Omil soba maki, the side dish worth adding

Omil soba maki. A taste of Japanese cuisine alongside the pastas, katsu, and omurice! Soba maki! It's a dish I always order when I come to Omil Seongsu. Filling and truly delicious.

It's packed with buckwheat, making it a healthy dish too. With a hefty Japanese-style rolled omelet and refreshing cucumber! Add a bit of pickled ginger and a little wasabi and it's genuinely delicious!!! The rolled omelet's cute little face makes it extra adorable. Really good value for the price, so make sure to add it as a side!
