Euljiro pork cutlet restaurant with black pork: Hunta Euljiro
In short
Hunta Euljiro is a Japanese pork cutlet restaurant in Jung-gu, Seoul, serving premium black pork cutlets near Euljiro 1-ga Station. I ordered the 14,000-won loin cutlet set for a solo dinner and especially loved its rich meatiness with homemade green-onion kimchi. After an appointment near Euljiro 1-ga Station, I was looking for a good place for a solo dinner and stopped by Hunta.

Pork cutlet is an easy choice for eating alone, so I have it now and then, but Hunta makes theirs with premium black pork, which made me curious about the flavor. Here begins my story of Hunta's loin rosu katsu, which I recommend to anyone looking for a great solo-dining spot near Euljiro 1-ga Station♥
Hunta Euljiro location and hours

It's just one minute from Exit 1-1 of Euljiro 1-ga Station. There are lots of big companies nearby, so I think it would be a great place to try when you're wondering what to have for lunch.

Hunta Euljiro says its black pork cutlets were created by a pork-cutlet enthusiast with solid fundamentals and practical know-how. It specializes exclusively in black pork breeds, which ordinary restaurants do not readily handle because of the cost and difficulty of managing them, and was selected as one of the top 100 cutlet restaurants in Daedonyeojido by Korea's first pork-cutlet influencer, Donbanggu.
A comfortable interior for solo meals or groups

The interior is clean and has plenty of tables, so it's nice for a group visit—and eating alone is no problem either.

No one was there at first, but quite a few customers came in while I was eating! I thought, “Ah, this really is a popular spot.”

Pork cutlet and kimchi stew together—the owner clearly knows what's what. A true cutlet enthusiast! I wanted to eat as little rice as possible that day, so I had the regular set, but next time I have to try the kimchi-stew set.
Rosu loin cutlet set, ₩14,000

Rosu cutlet set, ₩14,000. Hunta's own black-pork aging method brings out plenty of meaty aroma! It is said to be a cutlet with savory fat, bursting juices, and a crisp exterior with a tender interior.

I debated between tenderloin (hire) and loin (rosu), then ordered the rosu cutlet. The balance of fat and lean meat was perfect♥

Since pork cutlet is fried, it can start to feel rich as you eat, but Hunta offers such a variety of sauces and side dishes that you can enjoy it deliciously right to the end without getting tired of it!
- Sel de Sal lake salt: Taste the meat's natural aroma and the savory richness of its fat.
- Gaban pepper: Especially good with pork neck or the fatty part of the loin.
- Shichimi: Add a pleasantly spicy kick and fragrant flavor for a different taste!
- Pa-kimchi (green-onion kimchi): Hunta's signature homemade green-onion kimchi.
- Tonkatsu sauce: The most familiar pairing, with umami and tanginess.
- Mustard & wasabi: A sharp, pungent flavor that cuts through the richness.

For a pork cutlet made with black pork, the flavor was insane. Honestly, I've had pork cutlet countless times and know the usual taste, but this black pork cutlet was definitely different. It had such a wonderful meaty aroma and was incredibly savory.

Green-onion kimchi with Japanese-style pork cutlet was an unfamiliar combination I'd never seen before, but they went so well together—an officially amazing pairing! I'm normally a salt person, but that day I ate it only with the green-onion kimchi.

This Euljiro 1-ga Station restaurant didn't throw together its soup, either. I thought it was the common broth you see at restaurants, but it had a slightly more peppery kick, making it great alongside the rosu cutlet. It was a little like ramen broth and seriously delicious. There were shiitake mushrooms and pork in it, too!

Tonkatsu sauce and wasabi are a familiar, comforting pairing. But honestly, the black pork itself was so excellent that it was delicious even without dipping it in sauce.

I came by casually because it was close to Euljiro 1-ga Station and pork cutlet felt like a safe bet, but I felt like I'd discovered an incredible restaurant. It was such a satisfying and enjoyable solo meal at Hunta♥
