Seoul Square Japanese restaurant for steak rice bowls: Furato Shokudo

Today’s spot is a restaurant I visited while deciding where to go for an appointment near Seoul Station—and I was so satisfied!! It’s Furato Shokudo Seoul Square Direct Store (후라토식당 서울스퀘어 직영점) :) Everyone I went with loved it too, so let me introduce it! 😊

Furato Shokudo Seoul Square Direct Store: location and hours

It is at B1F B1F-4, 416 Hangang-daero, Jung-gu, Seoul. It is open daily from 11:00 to 20:50 and is closed for Chuseok on 9/25. Reservations and Naver reservations are available, and there is parking too.

I heard the gyukatsu (Japanese breaded beef cutlet), steki set meal, and omurice were all delicious, so I was really looking forward to it haha. We made a reservation before visiting!

Because it is inside Seoul Square, it was so easy to find~ It is right across the street from Seoul Station, so I thought it would be great when arriving at Seoul Station or meeting friends there haha. It was lunchtime and there were seriously so many guests, so I thought, wow, this must be a popular restaurant!!

Ordering the gyukatsu set and steak rice bowl

Everything on the menu looked delicious, so after deliberating, we ordered one gyukatsu set and a steak rice bowl~~! We added butter too ^^

The presentation is incredible, right? Haha. Its Naver rating was high, so I thought that if there was a restaurant this highly rated near Seoul Station, I absolutely had to try it—and I was so glad I came haha. It looked wonderfully glossy, and the meat was so delicious without being at all tough or having any off smell~~ I am really sensitive to smells, but I could enjoy it comfortably and deliciously from start to finish!! I was so happy to find a great restaurant like this inside Seoul Square haha.

There was plenty of food, and with cabbage and a soft-cooked egg, it was just perfect for a complete meal~~!

Gyukatsu cooked to your preferred doneness

The gyukatsu arrived too~~ You can grill it as much as you like on the mini brazier, so it is fun to cook, and I also loved being able to control the doneness exactly how I wanted ^^

It comes out so neat and clean, right? Haha. The soup and all the pickled chili peppers were delicious too.

Isn’t the mini brazier so cute and atmospheric? Haha. For that reason, I thought it would be nice for a date too~~! Since the restaurant is open late, I felt it would be great not only for lunch but also for dinner after work^^ The staff were kind as well, so ordering and receiving the food felt comfortable and pleasant!!

The salt and seasonings come out cutely too! If you need more, just ask and they will refill them~~ The staff were kind, and as they passed by, they checked whether the brazier flame had gone out or was weak haha. I really loved that sense of attentiveness!!

Those pickles were so delicious. Not the pickled chili peppers—the long one was really my taste!! It was a little spicy and went so well with the rice bowl haha.

For a satisfying meal near Seoul Station

If you are looking for good food near Seoul Station or Seoul Square, I really recommend saving Furato Shokudo Seoul Square Direct Store and visiting haha. It is good for a quick meal alone, and friends, couples, or groups can each choose and order what they want, so it felt like an easy place to use! It is also so close to Seoul Station that it felt perfect for stopping by for a delicious meal before setting off on a trip or taking a train! I was satisfied with everything, from the location and hours to the menu^^ Being able to grill the gyukatsu myself was appealing, and the varied menu meant I could choose something besides gyukatsu to suit my taste too~~! Parking is available :) Also, the onsen tamago served with the steak rice bowl is really delicious when mixed into the rice bowl, so if you love onsen tamago, definitely save this place and try it ❤️😊
