Gangnam Station hand-shaved noodles and Saturday lunch wait: Namsogwan

Somewhere I visited with friends after an escape room at Gangnam Station on a Saturday lunch. I love dosakmyeon (hand-shaved noodles) but it's rare to find, so since I was already at Gangnam Station, I stopped by.
Namsogwan U Yuk Dosakmyeon
Where is Namsogwan? The alley right after Gangnam Station Exit 11
Namsogwan U Yuk Dosakmyeon is close to Exit 11 of Gangnam Station, just in the alley right after the main road, so you don't even have to walk uphill. Recommended if you want something quick near Gangnam Station.
Right at the entrance, the chefs were nonstop pinching dumplings. This place is doing serious business — it felt like they could never make enough.
With dumplings being made fresh nonstop, of course it's delicious. Lots of dimsum varieties and a fast turnover, so you get freshly steamed dimsum right away.
Saturday lunch wait at Namsogwan: arrive before 12
Namsogwan U Yuk Dosakmyeon fills up right around noon on weekend lunches. We visited right before the weekend lunch peak, and orders kept coming in nonstop. If you want to go, I'd recommend arriving before noon. Past noon, you'll probably have to wait.
Namsogwan's 2nd floor is far roomier than the 1st
The interior is upscale and clean. There are seats on the first floor too, but not many.
The second floor was huge. The chairs were sofa-style too, so comfy-comfortable. The table spacing was wide, which made it nice for conversation.
There were clearly seats free when we arrived at 11:30, but after noon people came flooding in. All different ages and group sizes. Satisfying to see such a popular place.

Menu items with "tiger" in the name are the spicy ones. Not that kind of tiger, haha 🐯🐯
Yubal hand-shaved noodles, 11,000 won: a cold mala mixed noodle bowl
I got the yubal dosakmyeon at ₩11,000. It's a cold noodle dish mixed with minced beef and mala sauce, and since it's dosakmyeon, the noodles are super thick.
On top there's minced meat and chili. It's chili-oil based so slightly spicy, but for Chinese food, the spice aroma wasn't too strong. Really delicious. The chili oil gave it a bit of a kick, but it was just the right amount of kick, and the noodles and sauce went really well together.
I'm totally a thick-noodle person, so I really wanted dosakmyeon....! I love dosakmyeon.
Are Namsogwan's beef hand-shaved noodles heavy on spices?
This is the u yuk dosakmyeon my friend ordered. They were worried the spice aroma would be too strong, but said it was totally fine. Seems like they tone it down for Korean tastes.
This is dosakmyeon too, so the noodles are thick, with a good chew and a filling texture. I love dosakmyeon so much but it's sad how rare it is around here.
The dimsum was selling like hotcakes. Since our group doesn't eat a huge amount, we couldn't order it this time though.
Is Namsogwan worth it for hand-shaved noodles near Gangnam Station?
By the time we finished eating and left, around 12:20pm on Saturday, the wait had become so long that a line had formed on the stairs up to the second floor. What is it about this place.
Considering the location is Gangnam, the prices in the low ₩10,000s are cheap, and it was Chinese food that surprisingly wouldn't split opinions much, so I enjoyed it. Especially recommended for dosakmyeon lovers!
