Where is Gogit-ri 88beonji Changwon Sangnam Branch?

Gogit-ri 88beonji Changwon Sangnam Branch is a Korean BBQ restaurant at 10 Madimi-ro 56beon-gil, 1st floor, Seongsan-gu, Changwon, Gyeongnam, South Korea. It's open from 3:00 PM to 3:00 AM the next day (last order 2:30 AM), and offers group seating, reservations, high chairs, separate men's/women's restrooms, a waiting area, Wi-Fi, mobile payment, parking and pet-friendly seating.

Changwon isn't a neighborhood I know well, so I was a little worried about finding the place, but it turned out to be easier than expected haha

Inside Gogit-ri 88beonji: pet-friendly seats and two private rooms

Walking in, the whole space felt clean and spacious!

There was a large TV mounted on one wall, which looked great for catching a baseball game or other sports haha. There was also a separate seating area for guests with pets, so people who want to dine out with their pets could probably eat more comfortably here.

There were also two private rooms inside, which looked great for a family gathering or group dinner when you want a bit more privacy.

There was even a machine for taking photos of your receipt. We paid at the end and snapped one ourselves as a memento haha

How do you order at Gogit-ri 88beonji?

Looking at the menu, there was a wide variety of cuts prepared by section.

You order through a tablet, and since we wanted to try several cuts at once, we went with the Assorted A set!

Besides the set menus, you can also order individual cuts à la carte, which seemed great for a group where everyone wants to pick their own favorite cut or add extra of whatever they like.

There was also a good variety of rice and noodle dishes, which seemed perfect for pairing alongside the meat.

The table came set with lettuce wraps, pickles, kimchi and sauces. There was a wide range of sauces too — Maldon salt, salted anchovy sauce, makjang (thick soybean paste dip), wasabi, myeongran (salted pollock roe), and galchisokjeot (salted hairtail entrails).

And of course, shredded scallions — can't skip those, right??

Our order came out quickly! The meat arrived pre-seared and cut into bite-sized pieces, which was much easier than grilling everything from raw on the table haha

Galbisal (skirt meat), pork neck and pork belly were each laid out separately by cut. Just put the pre-seared meat on the grill to finish cooking — done! Since we didn't have to grill it from scratch for a long time, it was easy to chat while eating.

The salted anchovy sauce that came with the meat is meant to be lightly reduced on the grill before dipping the meat in it.

Once everything was fully cooked, it was time to really dig in!

I can never skip the lettuce wrap when eating meat lol — I piled a piece of meat on lettuce with scallion kimchi and pickled radish to taste, wrapped it all up big, and... yep, it was delicious haha

Doenjang jjigae and the verdict on Gogit-ri 88beonji

Meat alone felt like it needed something more, so we also ordered doenjang jjigae as a side dish. It wasn't too strong or sharp, just pleasantly rich, and went well with rice.

Overall, Gogit-ri 88beonji Changwon Sangnam Branch felt spacious and clean, with plenty of tables, a separate pet-friendly seating area, and two private rooms — making it suitable for everything from family meals to friend gatherings to group dinners. If you're looking for a good BBQ restaurant in Sangnam-dong, or a spot for a family meal, gathering or company dinner, I'd recommend Gogit-ri 88beonji!
