Dongnae sushi restaurant three-dish combo order: Moshi Moshi Sushi

In short

Moshi Moshi Sushi, Lotte Department Store Dongnae Branch is a Japanese sushi restaurant on the 8th-floor dining floor of Lotte Department Store Dongnae, a short walk from Myeongnyun Station in Busan. Remembering a good meal at the Busan National University branch, the writer returned and ordered three dishes at once — seafood yaki udon, a sashimi set meal, and the assorted sushi A set — tasting noodles, sashimi, sushi and tempura in one sitting, with partitioned booth seats, kids' sets and baby chairs on hand. Moshi Moshi Sushi is an easy pick when you want to combine several dishes in a single visit.

The three menus ordered at Moshi Moshi Dongnae

I like sushi so I eat it fairly often, and I had a good memory of eating well at Moshi Moshi's Busan National University branch before, so this time I went to Moshi Moshi at Lotte Department Store Dongnae Branch. It's on the 8th floor of Lotte Department Store Dongnae, so it's convenient to get to from Myeongnyun Station too, and it's a great spot for lunch or dinner while shopping at the department store. The store itself was spacious and clean, with plenty of menu options, so it seemed like a solid pick for a family meal out.

This time I ordered seafood yaki udon, a sashimi set, and an assorted sushi A set — all three had different charms, so it was great for tasting a bit of everything. Why we came back to Moshi Moshi Sushi after the Busan National University branch

Entrance to Moshi Moshi Sushi on the 8th-floor dining hall of Lotte Department Store Dongnae

Since I had a satisfying meal at Moshi Moshi's Busan National University branch before, I naturally headed to Moshi Moshi again when I visited Lotte Department Store Dongnae. Moshi Moshi at Lotte Department Store Dongnae is on the 8th-floor dining hall, close to Myeongnyun Station, so it's very accessible — easy to reach while shopping, and since it's indoors, weather doesn't matter, which also seemed good for visiting with kids.

Walking in, the interior was bigger and cleaner than I expected.

Seating with generous table spacing and booth seats

The tables were spaced generously so I didn't feel crammed next to the next table, and there was booth seating too for a slightly more private meal. This seems like a good match for anyone looking for a quiet, clean lunch spot near Myeongnyun Station.

What's on the menu, from set meals to kids' sets

Menu board for set meals and sushi at Moshi Moshi

I also liked how many menu options Moshi Moshi at Lotte Department Store Dongnae had. True to a sushi restaurant, there were many types of assorted sushi, plus set meals like sushi sets and sashimi sets where you can taste several things at once. There were also sashimi dishes like mixed sashimi and salmon sashimi, and noodle dishes like udon, soba, ramen, and seafood yaki udon, so it was easy to order according to your taste.

There was also a separate kids' set. With options like pork cutlet and mini udon, or sushi with croquette and mini udon, it wouldn't be hard to pick something for a kid who doesn't eat sashimi or sushi well yet. The kids' set was ready to go, plus a baby chair and baby tableware, so families with kids shouldn't have trouble choosing.

All three ordered dishes placed together at the table

Since we wanted to taste a variety that day, we ordered seafood yaki udon + sashimi set + assorted sushi A set.

Seafood yaki udon: sweet, savory and full of umami

Seafood yaki udon with seafood and vegetables

The dish I kept reaching for first was the seafood yaki udon. The chewy, springy udon noodles came together with seafood and vegetables.

The sauce wasn't overly salty or sharp, but had a savory-salty flavor with a subtle sweetness following behind — a sweet-and-salty combo that kept my chopsticks moving. Since the sauce soaked evenly into the noodles while stir-fried, every bite had a deep umami, and the seafood and vegetables you bite into here and there kept the texture interesting.

A bite of yaki udon lifted with chopsticks

After eating something light like sushi or sashimi, one bite of yaki udon really wakes up your appetite! If ordering just sushi feels a bit lacking, this is a great side dish to share.

The sashimi set meal: sashimi, sushi, tempura and udon in one tray

Sashimi set with sushi, sashimi, mini udon, and tempura

If you want to taste a little of many things, personally I thought Moshi Moshi's sashimi set was really good. The set comes with sushi, sashimi, mini udon, and tempura all together, so you can enjoy a bit of everything without ordering separately.

Shrimp, eggplant, and sweet pumpkin tempura from the sashimi set

The sashimi was chewy yet soft and clean-tasting, easy to eat without feeling heavy, and the sushi had a good balance of fish and rice for a clean bite. The shrimp, eggplant, and sweet pumpkin tempura that came with it were tasty too — crispy outside while the ingredients' own texture came through inside. Getting to eat the warm mini udon in between made the meal much more filling than sashimi and sushi alone.

A great choice when you want a hearty meal near Myeongnyun Station.

Assorted sushi A set: how many kinds do you get?

Assorted sushi A set with a variety of types

If you love sushi, you can't skip the assorted sushi A set either. With a wide variety of types, it was more fun to pick and choose than eating just one kind of sushi.

The sashimi topping was soft and moist, and the rice portion wasn't excessive, making each piece easy to eat in one bite. Each ingredient had a different texture and flavor, so it was fun to try one at a time. From clean, light fish sushi to springy shrimp sushi, the variety kept it from getting boring.

Ordering the sashimi set together with the assorted sushi A meant we got to eat plenty of both sashimi and sushi — a good combo for anyone like us who wants to taste a variety of menus.

Ordering the seafood yaki udon, sashimi set, and assorted sushi together like we did meant we could taste noodles, sashimi, sushi, and tempura all in one meal — a satisfying combination. The store was clean, tables were spaced generously, and the staff were kind, making for a comfortable meal. Combination spread of Moshi Moshi's sashimi set and assorted sushi
