Weekday morning chashu set for two in Dongnae, Busan: Moshi Moshi

Hi everyone, I'm a 36-week pregnant blogger still getting around with a heavy belly, haha! My husband got off work early today, and since I never get tired of sushi even this late in pregnancy, we headed to a sushi restaurant!!

I genuinely love sushi — I eat it for anniversaries, birthdays, special occasions, and just regular days too, so my sushi cravings are basically guaranteed. Being a very pregnant lady, a car is a must, so we went with a place that has guaranteed parking!! And a department store is always a safe bet.

Where is Moshi Moshi Sushi Dongnae, and what are the hours?

Moshi Moshi Sushi, Lotte Department Store Dongnae Branch is on the 8th-floor food court of Lotte Department Store Dongnae, so it's very easy to find. Hours are daily 10:30–20:30, last order 20:00, and it's closed on department store holidays. Let me show you where it is first.

There's a wide range of sushi sets, plus rice and noodle dishes, so we had a hard time deciding. There's even a proper kids' menu :)

Moshi Moshi has three locations: the Busan National University main branch, Lotte Department Store Gwangbok, and Lotte Department Store Dongnae 👍🏻 So this is a place you'd run into anywhere. Why is this my first time here?

Department stores really do have food courts that satisfy every age group. And among them, Moshi Moshi felt especially clean and able to cater to a wide range of ages.

Ah, I want a beer. Guess I'll be able to have one next year?

Ordering the chashu set for two: tofu salad first

We ordered the chashu set for two at Moshi Moshi Sushi. We ordered easily through the kiosk at our table, and the food came out in order — salad first, then the main dishes.

The tofu salad they brought out first was totally my style. Table turnover was fast and there were so many customers, I almost forgot it was a weekday!! We waited for the main dishes with high expectations.

How did the 16-piece sushi, udon and chashu taste for two?

For the chashu set for two, the sushi came out first, then udon, then chashu. The well-rounded spread of dishes felt like a solid combination.

I liked that the udon had a nice mushroom aroma. The sushi was 16 pieces, which was a good amount for two to share happily. It was plated nicely, and overall felt fresh and clean.

I didn't get that melt-in-your-mouth feeling, but for the price, it was sushi well worth eating.

The chashu was warm and tender, went well with the bean sprouts, and the portion was fairly generous. I found the seasoning a little salty, but my husband ate it up happily.

We shared the warm udon too, and ended up so full!!

Atmosphere and service: solo diners, groups and older guests

At Moshi Moshi Sushi Dongnae, there was a mix of solo diners and groups, and being in Dongnae, there were quite a lot of older customers too. I was a bit thirsty so we ordered a drink partway through, and we scraped our plates clean.

The staff were kind and the food came out faster than expected, so we were able to enjoy the meal without spending too much time. I think it'd be nice to come back with my daughter next time.
