Ash black dye for summer cool skin at Chamer, a Dongnae hair salon
In short
Chamer is a personal-design hair salon in Dongnae-gu, Busan, on the 2nd floor of the restaurant alley behind Dongnae Lucky Apartment, near Minam Station. After a consultation, Chamer dyed hair that had faded yellow and red in the summer sun a sheer ash black, and the result made summer cool-tone light skin look one shade brighter. For anyone with a summer cool tone weighing a toned-down color, Chamer is satisfying from the consultation onward.

Hi, I'm Gangsim-i. My personal color is summer cool-tone light, and for us sukeul types, if any yellow or orange tones come near the face, we end up looking jaundiced and kind of unfortunate haha😅 So I prefer toned-down colors like dark brown-black and dye my hair pretty often. This summer's intense sunlight really faded my hair color — it went yellow, then red, and my unfortunate-face situation got worse — so I went to get it fixed. Near Dongnae Station and Minam Station, this is a personal-design specialist salon, Chamer Hair.
Where is Chamer, and what about parking and hours?

Chamer Hair, a Dongnae hair salon, sits on the 2nd floor of the restaurant alley behind Dongnae Lucky Apartment. I actually walk through this alley a lot, so I already knew the salon was there. Parking is available for about 5–6 cars on the ground floor beside the building, and that's where I parked. The wall in the parking lot says it's reserved for the 1st-floor barbecue restaurant, so I did wonder "wait, is this the right spot??" but yes, it is haha

Inside Chamer: mood and cleanliness
Chamer opened two years ago, and the interior is really bright and clean.

The moment you walk in, that bright, clean ivory-toned look just lifts my mood.

By the entrance there's a display area selling hair products, and the waiting area is really pretty too. They even have candy, so you can snack while you wait.

The cleanliness is great and the whole place feels comfortable and pretty. The full window wall on the 2nd floor lets in great light and gives it an open feel. Hair salons usually have tons of small items lying around, and it can feel a bit iffy if it's not cleaned well, but here everything sparkles from the floor up — total pass from me👍

Massage-chair shampoo room and free drinks at Chamer
There are two separate shampoo areas. One has a massage chair — I lay back in it for my shampoo and it felt amazing. The restrooms are also separated by gender and quite clean, and they even have L'Occitane hand wash and lotion.

Wi-Fi is available and they offer a drink service. I had an iced café latte, and apparently you can adjust the condensed milk in or out, stronger or lighter — a hair salon like this is a first for me haha I went with the basic latte😊

Summer cool-tone consultation: why ash black?
My stylist for today's dye was Ian, the personal-design team lead. She's the tall, slender one over there😊 Before the dye, we did a thorough consultation.

My hair's current state — it doesn't show much in photos, but outdoors it's clearly faded, blotchy, and yellow-red. Especially around my hairline and forehead, my hair had gone so yellow that my face looked sallow and dull. Ian is a summer-cool type too, so she really understood my struggle. She explained that summer-cool types need somewhat darker hair colors to look their best, but going too jet black looks heavy and dated — so the key is finding that subtle, precise tone in between. We all know it, right, that one tiny difference that makes you look prettier and totally changes your image. She recommended a transparent, glowing ash black.

We started the dye while snacking on coffee and cookies. Can you see the color swatch fabric in the back? That's for diagnosing personal color, holding it up against your bare face haha Ian specializes in personal design and creates a custom look for each client through detailed one-on-one consultations. If you don't know your own personal color, you can get a quick read with that fabric too. I already knew mine from before, so I skipped that and went straight into the dye.

The ash black dye process, from color application to shampoo
Applying the dye.

These tool trays are often surprisingly messy at other salons, but you can tell Ian's personality here — spotlessly tidy, very satisfying. The dye didn't feel harsh at all, and the time passed quickly. After letting it sit, we did a test check and headed to the shampoo room.

A refreshing shampoo.

The staff member was kind too, with a really gentle touch.

Ooh~ the color looks like it turned out great!!

The result: a sheer ash black that brightens the face one tone
Ian finished it off with a beautiful blow-dry^^ Ash black — that clear, transparent black that suits summer-cool tones😍 If you usually go brown or lighter colors, you might not fully get this difference, but for summer-cool types, the key is keeping makeup and style understated so your naturally clear skin tone stands out lol Ian nailed exactly that👍 I'm really happy with it^^ My hair is noticeably clearer and more transparent now, and my face looks a whole tone brighter🎶 Beige doesn't suit me, so I usually wear a lot of gray knits in fall — I think this will go really well with that hehe

If you're looking for a hair salon near Dongnae or Minam Station, I fully recommend Ian at Chamer Hair. She's not just beautiful herself — she's genuinely skilled and really catches what the client wants. I loved the result, the consultation process, and the salon environment itself. Cool autumn winds are coming now. If you're a summer-cool type going through a hair rut, come to Chamer and get a clean reset😊 Even if you don't know your own style, she'll figure it out for you.
