Seongsu pasta restaurant at opening time: kim pesto tartare, Sedici
In short
Sedici is a European restaurant on the first floor of Seongsu-dong Arc Valley in Seongdong, Seoul, a 5-minute walk from Seongsu Station Exit 2. Arriving before the doors opened meant walking in first, and the order was beef tartare with an extra brioche, fried potato gnocchi with sweet corn, and shrimp crumble pasta, with the kim pesto (seaweed pesto) tartare and the bisque-oil shrimp pasta the standouts. Sedici filled every seat minutes after the order went in, so anyone after gnocchi or pasta in Seongsu should aim for opening time.

Back in Seongsu-dong today~ I'm someone who genuinely loves Western food, and since I wanted something delicious in Seongsu, I visited Sedici, a Seongsu Italian restaurant famous for its gnocchi!!💕

There are tons of great Seongsu pasta spots, but Sedici is especially known for gnocchi so I'd been curious about it!! I'm so into gnocchi lately!! No, I love it💛
Sedici is about a 5-minute walk from Seongsu Station Exit 2, and when I got to the storefront there was already a menu board set up outside, which was nice to browse!! Most places in Seongsu-dong don't offer parking support, so having parking at Sedici made it feel even more convenient!👍

What are the interior and seating like at Sedici?
The inside of Sedici isn't flashy — it's calm and clean overall. It's on the 1st floor of Seongsu-dong Arc Valley so it's easy to get to, and the clean exterior with a yellow sign makes it stand out! Once you step through the door, the interior feels cozy^^!

We got there before opening and were the very first ones in! Right after we ordered, it filled up completely! The interior isn't huge, but there's a bar-style counter in the middle with seating in a straight line on both sides! So the space itself didn't feel cramped at all💛

The basic table setting looks like this!

Looked at the menu and ordered^^ What I ordered was
- Beef tartare with added brioche
- Fried potato gnocchi with sweet corn
- Shrimp crumble

Beef tartare with brioche and kim pesto (seaweed pesto)
Sedici's beef tartare has top round and eye of round beef along with kim pesto (seaweed pesto), pickled shallots, and chives. This is truly a delicacy~~~ finely minced eye of round and top round mixed with various ingredients, and it pairs so well with the kim pesto on top!!

Piling the beef tartare onto the added brioche was so good!!💛 Soft, fluffy brioche together with the smooth tartare was a great texture match, and it worked so well with the kim pesto too — I just kept eating it saying yum yum!!

Shrimp crumble pasta in bisque oil
Sedici's shrimp crumble is a pasta with plump shrimp and crunchy crumble on top — an oil pasta, but unusually with bisque oil, which made me even more curious! I really wanted to try this pasta! The texture alone was surprising!!ㅎ
Mixing it well with the sauce and eating the smooth noodles together with the plump shrimp, plus the crunch of the crumble, was so, so good??👍

Fried potato gnocchi with sweet corn, sauce and all
Sedici's fried potato gnocchi with sweet corn is a bit different from typical gnocchi since it's fried — crispy outside, chewy inside, the perfect crispy-on-the-outside-soft-on-the-inside dish!! Eating the gnocchi alone dipped in sauce made me go huh?? but there was a reason for all that sauce! Scooping it up like a soup and eating it together brought out the corn flavor big time and it was so delicious!!

Especially with whole sweet corn kernels mixed in, that savory-yet-sweet corn flavor blended in perfectly and it was so tasty!!💛 I could totally see why it's a popular menu item!!ㅎ

Is Sedici worth it for European food in Seongsu?
Sedici has a lot of menu items that would be great for anyone looking for Western food in Seongsu!! This kind of combo was delicious, and next time I'll go back to try the butter pasta I was also debating over^^

While paying, they had these lemon candies ready as a palate cleanser, which was so nice^^!! Sedici is especially well known as a Seongsu pasta spot, so I'd highly recommend it to anyone looking for Seongsu gnocchi too!! Enjoy a relaxed meal at Sedici, a place in Seongsu that's not too casual but not too fancy either, with a great atmosphere💛
